I need some help locating someone local that can tackle a project for me. I bit off a little more than I can chew on this one. A year ago my dad was murdered i didn?t get any help from my siblings so I put all expenses on my credit card. I do stippling so a family member asked if I can stipple a Glock for them and coat it in a Milwaukee theme. They offered to kick me the cash to help get out of debt from the funeral so I took it. After a few attempts of spraying the cerakote I found it?s much harder than I expected. The c series keeps laying too thick. Any recommendations on who can help me complete this project would be appreciated.

What are you using to spray it? I've always just used the Preval aerosol sprayers you can get at Home Depot and haven't had any issues. Make a few practice runs on some scrap metal to get the distance and speed down. Build up light coats from a distance, don't get up close with the sprayer and try to cover it in one shot.

I'm really sorry to hear about your father.

Iwata lph80 spray gun

I used a Harbor Freight airbrush to apply Cerakote to my old Kahr K40. I was pretty happy with the results:

Hmmm, Cerakote has instructions for this gun on their website, maybe you saw that and that's why you picked that gun.

https://www.cerakote.com/resources/knowledge-base/110/how-to-adjust-your-hvlp-spray-gun

Probably just have the fluid adjustment set to spray way too much fluid, dial it clockwise and cut the flow way down so that you are just spraying a super fine mist and then do a couple passes letting it sit for a minute or so betwen passes, cerakote will flow a bit and fill in the empty spaces if you let it sit a bit between passes, rush it too much and next thing you know you have runs and way too much coverage.

Another one done with the Preval sprayer and baked in my oven.

90% of it is the prep work. :)
