CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. ? The Clear Creek County Sheriff?s Office is warning residents after a rash of ATV and motorcycle thefts.

The thieves were caught on camera, armed with rifles and handguns.

Photos released by the sheriff's office showed the thieves in two Ford F-250s, a white Toyota Tundra and a black SUV.

"It's very strange," said Clear Creek County Sgt. Ron Thornton. "It's very concerning for the entire county since they're heavily armed."

"They're coming from the metro area, snatching stuff and then taking off back to the metro area," said Thornton.

If you do see the suspects, you should not confront them. Additionally, the sheriff?s office is cautioning residents to lock up, cover or safely store their vehicles.

If they stray too far off I-70, they will eventually find a Good Ole Boy who just doesn't care.

There is a RV/trailer storage just in the other side of the treatment plant where I work and there has been multiple break-ins recently and almost every time they steal UTV/ATV/enclosed trailers.
It seems to be bad everywhere.

Out in the Clear Creek area, a lotta folks just leave ATVs parked outside. Many leave their vehicles and homes unlocked as well. Very low crime area.

The gang kids ride the ATVs all over the streets in Denver, often you'll see a half dozen ATVs and about 30 dirt bikes on Colorado or Federal.

I've seen the gangs on Colfax. The parade looks like a scene from "Mad Max".

So there is an urban market for these items? I guess most of the recipients will be "consequences immune individuals" who are members of specific privileged groups, and whom LE will have "no pursuit" policies.

I just figured the units were headed to Mexico. I am not sure how they could get stolen ATVs across the border, but it works for trucks & SUVs.

Don't worry, the state created a new law a few years back that required you to register your atv/dirt bike just like a car so I'm sure they will be able to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
