Is the Cheyenne Wells Shoot still going on?
If not, what is the closest one this year?
One thing I'd like to try is a suppressed 50BMG rifle.

Looks like at Great Guns in August.

If you're unarmed, you are a victim.

Phoenix Weaponry is mentioned in announcement, may be able to contact them for list of firearms(they are probably providing firearms/ammo for the benefit event).

Watched one of the video's, looked like Phoenix Weaponry had all the MG's at the shoot.
Nice that they had steel plates to shoot.
I wonder if MachineGun Tours does any in state events?

Contact Denver Bullets, they probably know about every mg shoot for 1000 miles.

And fuck Dragonman.

Colorado used to have an amazing shoot twice a year. Think it was Rocky Mountain Gun Owners or 50 cal Association. If I remember correctly, it was just north of Denver and we had to stop shooting whenever a vehicle came across the range a few miles away. It moved to Ft Morgan, Hudson, and was even on Congresswoman M Musgraves land for years. It shifted to Cheyenne Wells after that and it was amazing! The local fire department raised funds thru the shoot. Hours of RC aircraft targets, cars loaded with explosives, RVs going boom, etc. The local Air Guard showed up one year and put on a performance that kicked butt. Even nite shoots with 3rd/4th gen optics. Last year was maybe 2018? The people of Cheyenne Wells made me feel like family every time I was out there. I really miss going out there every May!!!

Casper WY has a great machine gun shoot every June so you just missed it. Every auto, some artillery, and an outstanding mad minute every nite. Look up Central Wyoming Machine Gun. Been going on for over 20 yrs.

Arizona has Big Sandy twice a year. Next one will be in October. You either fly into Vegas or Phoenix and drive a long ways. Its a big shoot with lots of military items.

Oklahoma has the biggest shoot in America twice a year. It is called O.F.A.S.T.S. And next one is at the end of September. Drive is around 800 miles so a nice long roadtrip.

Hope this helps. If you make it to one of these make sure you get great ear protection. 90mm artillery really smacks you in the face.

Thank you for that, it definitely helps.
I shot my first 50 at Cheyenne Wells:
It split my eyebrow in two and there I am, bleeding like a stuck pig with an idiotic grin on my face.
My wife looks at me and goes :
"Oh damn, now we're going to have to buy you one..." [Coffee]
The rest is history.

Sensory overload, the chance to shoot some rare stuff and those night shoots were crazy.
Great bunch of guys and good safety rules.

I still have a few shirts and a mess of tracer that will probably never get shot. People dont under stand how cool these shoots were. My friend and I would share a spot. We'd bring back a 55 gallon drum of cases. Ammo used to be so affordable.

Speaking of rare stuff, last shoot I went to I was just walking around looking and watching, only had a little to spend - when one table stopped me dead in my tracks. There was a German Stg44 and an M2 Carbine, I just HAD to shoot those two! SO worth it.

That is a fun video!
I recognized Greg Satre of Denver Bullets at the beginning.
A really good guy who I miss now.
Funny watching tracers as they are normally the 5th round in the belt, so each one you see flying has 4 others rounds you don't see.
Tracers burn out between 2000 and 2500 meters, so those rounds are really flying a long distance!
That shoot had a heck of a long impact area.

That kid in the orange sweatshirt at the beginning is my grandson. He's 27 now, been in the Navy for 4 years, is now married with 2 stepsons and a wonderful wife, and they recently bought a house in Norman, OK. So that's how old that video is. And they said the impact area was clear all the way to Kansas, I hear there's oil wells there now. Probably some of those damned big windmills too.

Super Video!! I remember hearing eerie howling ricochet rounds overhead once in a while. I never heard of any problems at those shoots, beside a small brush fire. The bowling ball cannons taking shots at the RC aircraft was entertaining, it all was!
I think you get a 3-day buzz after those shoots, I did!
