Has been quite the production.
We have each(Mrs bo and I) followed both conventions each presidential cycle since 1976.
This one ranks in our top 3 of both parties even without portions related to last weekend's events.
Our rankings were mostly based on our circumstances and places/points in our lives at the time of each convention and how the candidate faired after convention up to election.
Anybody else think the conventions matter or have an effect on the outcome of the election?
If you're unarmed, you are a victim.
I’m extremely impressed. But hard to compare given our current administration. By far the worst in the history of the country. Anyone that wants to disagree send me a pm and we can talk over lunch…my treat.

Kamala can perform her various accents, make a failed attempt at humor, then entertain us with a Joe Biden ventriloquist puppet, and for the finale she can squeeze a bulb to squirt chocolate pudding out his pant leg and chide, "There there, Joe... time to let me take over as President now."

They kinda matter as a matter of procedure.
An effect? Maybe. Not the convention as a whole but there have been standout moments that have mattered, like Obama's 2004 speech that propelled him into the national spotlight.
Overall, I'd say it's a lot like the Super Bowl pregame show. A lot of hype and talk with very little new or interesting being said.
On their own to a casual voter, I'd say conventions are unlikely to help make up anyone's mind that was on the fence. Especially now with so much other information available.
They have become an anachronism, much like beauty pageants and award shows.

I still think Trump's campaign should compile some "greatest hits" videos of Kamala's hyena laugh and word salad mixed in with Joe's verbal meanderings and just push them out on YouTube and X and Instagram without comment.
Eric Trump made an excellent speech from what I saw of it on Thursday. He called out a tremendous list of what is wrong and needs to be addressed.
I didn't watch a whole lot of it but if what I did see my two favorite speech's were the 98? Y/o vet and Trump's granddaughter.

That is rich, Clint!
I liked the “..tough S.O.B.!” comment by the Union President, and all the average Americans sharing their stories of loss during this administrations term.
Trump is a changed man compared to a week ago, who wouldn’t be? I agree that Eric Trump and the entire family really did a good job, Can’t wait to see what the DNC will look like. They seem to be aimless and divided,
