I filled out the online form and had to send in pics of my ID, CCW and a residence proof. I didn?t see any place for my training certificate? Also, last time I had to go get some pics taken if I remember correctly.

Anyone done Denver lately?

I'm confused. My recollection was that a permit was good for 10 years but you had to get it renewed with a new photo ID at five years. And that you had to have had training is the past 6 years (or so).

So take a class, get your permit with a few months and it is good for 5 years, with a renewal/new-card at 5 years- and the original training class should cover the second five year. After 10 years from the initial permit, you start over again. New class, new permit.

Did I sniff too much glue making models as a kid? Is it just a renewal after 5 years, and you only have to take a class for the initial permit?

No talking about next year, talking about now.

Correct. Training certs are good for 10 yrs, renewal every 5.

Jeffco accepted my unexpired permit as proof of training at renewal 15 years from my original cert. Your mileage may vary.

Correct. Training certs are good for 10 yrs, renewal every 5.

That's how it is now. Next year, training certs are only good for 6 months unless they are military or LEO.

I'm still confused. Went in and all I had to do was electronically fill out a form and have my picture taken. This was a renewal at 5 years, so I didn't have to show a training cert. I guess next time, either because of 10 years or because of the new regs, I'll have to get a new training cert. Now just wait 90 days. I was hoping that clock had already run since it has been about a month since I strarted the process, and had gotten a 'provisional' OK of some sort from Permitium. Nice lady says the 90 day clock starts ticking. Took like 10 minutes, no waiting and I was early. Don't wear a belt to get through the metal detector faster.

How ironic. You can't carry when renewing your permit to carry.
