These people and their sexual grooming are disgusting.

22-1-104. Teaching of history, culture, and civil government. (1) (a) The history and civil government of the United States and of the state of Colorado, which includes the history, culture, and social contributions of minorities, including but not limited to American Indians, Latinos, African Americans, and Asian Americans, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals within these minority groups, and the intersectionality of significant social and cultural features within these communities, and the contributions and persecution of religious minorities, must be taught in all the public schools of the state

Sure, little Johnny needs to know all about the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community here within the state, but can't tell you what the importance of TABOR is.

We're no longer educating the children (we haven't for a long time), we're grooming and brainwashing them.

We have three dear friends who teach in our district. All conservatives. This subject came up over a cigar the other night. It's not happening in our schools. How it's not happening I don't know.

That topic seems rather advanced for 1st grade. Many 1st graders don't even know how to read yet, and are struggling with addition and subtraction.

The short answer is that until questions pertaining directly to LGBTQ+ contributions begin appearing on the standardized state tests (CMAS), teachers, building level, and district level administrators will choose to use class time to cover topics that are assessed by the tests. Unless of course, it a topic of interest to one such individual. In the meantime, this standard gives teachers an out for cute class art/bulletin board projects to celebrate different "months" that the leftists have designated.

The thing is, often it is not a "choice" but a mandate, ie: lesson plans prepared by the Department of Education, which is composed of bureaucrats holding a PhD in Education who have never actually taught in a classroom.

If a teacher "chooses" to incorporate LGBTQ+ or Marxist ideology into their classroom, without specific permission from administration, in writing, that constitutes grounds for immediate dismissal, even if they have tenure. Federally mandated lesson plans are quite specific, and there usually is not time to add additional lessons to the curriculum, let alone controversial political messages directed at preteen students, who are de facto a captive audience. They should actually lose their certification over that, just like any other child abuser. Politics and religion and graphic lessons about masturbation and anal sex should not be "taught" to elementary students in a classroom setting. That constitutes an ethics violation.
