After 20 years we are going into the empty nester phase. So there is stuff that has accumulated for 2 decades. Hobbies that seemed like a good idea at the time. Random stuff. You get it.

What?s the best way to get items with residual value sold? eBay? Marketplace? CL?-(shudder)
Item specific forums?
Any tips appreciated. I don?t have a ton of time to spare but if I can eke out a few boxes of ammo afterwards it will be a good trade off.
Also when and where I grew up we did not throw stuff out. So I may just have to change my approach and trash stuff.

There are outfits that will sell your stuff for you on ebay/FB/OfferUp for a fee.

Been considering using them myself just haven't done the researched yet.

An outfit that I have seen appearing more frequently is Caring Transitions.
It is franchised by area and they have one that covers Longmont
https://www.caringtransitions.com/locations/mode/northdenverandlongmont
I have bid on a few items through them and the buyer pays the premium.
I have not sold anything through them, but you might check them out as one of your choices.
I think the type of item you are selling determines the method of selling.
FB works on certain things, Craigslist works for some types, forums for others, eBay for a few, and donations to charity for those things that they can use.

FB Marketplace is pretty much THE place to sell. Just be VERY careful. For example... the accubow I have listed for sale here? Their AI said it's a weapon and against rules. Got me banned from Marketplace. It's not a weapon. You can't fire an arrow. It's a workout tool that mimics the movement of archery. A dumbbell is more of a weapon...

Also, anything "hazardous": vehicle fluid? bad unless it's in the vehicle. solvent? bad. etc.

Make sure to avoid any weapon related stuff. I also got dinged for a bow vise... all it does is hold the bow in place when working on it. Patently meets their rules, but because it is a "bow" vise AI caught it as banned. And when you ask for a review? It cycles through one of two places: the same idiotic AI or some dude in a call center in Bangladesh who doesn't read English and doesn't know what he's looking at, who probably is rated on his turnover rate of requests so he just denies everything.

Craigslist is also ok.

Offerup is bleh, not much traffic on there. To post you have to use the app.

Online sales suck. Consider donations to an outdoor-specific charity as that applies, or someplace other than Goodshill for the rest of it.

Well have you tried here first? FB Market place gets things sold, no fees, cash, and usually nearby. It is a pain, plenty of scammers, no shows ets. Mainly stupid questions. I live near Scheels here in Johnstown and that is my meet up point. Constantly get asked where the meet up is..its in the listing!! or send address, I just delete those most of the time or tell them to open google maps and type SCHEELS JOHNSTOWN. Then I never hear back from them..lol.
