Any takers?

https://www.mansionglobal.com/articles/fairy-tale-castle-inspired-by-versailles-and-the-biltmore-mansion-lists-outside-denver-for-60-million-ca3b9a51

Reached via a nearly mile-long road that culminates in an 8,500-square-foot motor court, the estate, which is cut into a mountain, is a private compound whose amenities rival those at luxury resorts.

21,692-square-foot house...28,000 hours of painting...1,250-square-foot greenhouse...two fiercely large carved marble lions statues from Italy that weigh in at 7,500 pounds each

The 2,500-square-foot primary suite, which is on the main level, has Juliet balconies, a living room, a limestone fireplace, and a luxury bath with a coffee bar, refrigerator and a safe room.

Didn't this sell a year or two ago for something around $12 million? It was on the market for a long time.

A colossal French fairy-tale castle set in the mountains of Evergreen, Colorado, that sold in 2021 for $9.5 million is back on the market after an extensive renovation, this time for nearly $60 million.

That’s only $2,800 per sq ft!

Isn’t ‘Bluth’ the name of the family in “Arrested Development”?

Even if I had the money that would be the last thing on my list to buy. Houses like that are a money black hole, even when your filthy rich.

No Thanks. I'll gladly take enormous acreage and a much smaller house for just a few million. $60million for that is asinine to me.

Full time maintenance staff required.

If I was in the market with that sort of $$$, I would be looking at a nice mountain ranch property, not a big ugly house.

Yeah, kind of what I thought. The place when it was originally built was highly customized for the previous owners with things like their monograms throughout the house in the woodwork and cabinetry.I don't think that the couple that had it built ever moved in and lived in the place.

Several years ago I was at that house to work with the owners regarding custom window coverings. Drapes, shades, etc. After about 30 min of dealing with the people. I kindly told them I was not interested in the job, or continuing the conversations. They were horrible people. They were simply disgusting with the way they treated me, and some of the construction workers who were there. I also learned a bit about who the people were. I'm not going to "out" them, but will say that they are involved in a "church" and this house is one of many that they "own" It felt good to tell them I wasn't interested in them or their money and good luck. On my way out the door, or of the guys doing some trim work left the house with me. He had enough of their shit as well. Give money to their church, and they buy big ass houses and treat people like shit.

I?ve worked with folks like that in the past. Bad news. After a little education, you can certainly smell them out. Not to pick on anyone, but realtors can be real pain to work with too, right up there with architects. A different breed of client.

I looked up the owners/builders a few years back when this first popped up for sale, I don't remember there being any church connection.

Looked them up again, Cynthia and Randall Veselka, they are from Texas and run a financial services company.

I work with realtors every day.

And you're right.

Usually the newbies are the difficult ones since they are trying to do everything exactly by the book.

Someone that has been successful enough to be around for a couples decades is usually much easier to work with.

I find a lot of people, especially young women, get into it because it looks so easy on HGTV. All they have do is drive around and show beautiful homes and make $60k every week.

Then they find out it's a 16 hours a day job, every day, and putting the deals together is a much bigger pain in the ass than they imagined, with a much smaller paycheck. Add all the marketing involved in finding clients and a lot of agents (75%) quit the 1st year with 87% gone within 5 years.

This shed has to take at least 10M off the asking price. Ugh. 97365
