Selling a Yamaha FJR.
Victor Anderson, who just joined Facebook is very interested. Looking up his picture with Google Lens shows Victor is very handsome and must be a model since that picture is used a lot of different places.
He wants to meet tomorrow!
He doesn't haggle or negotiate- he doesn't need to.
This is great! Except he wants me to go to a website that is about a month old to buy a VIN report.
He does it for every vehicle he sells, so I should too. He even says he will pay me back the $45 for the report tomorrow when he picks up the bike.
Well... okay. Sounds like a no-lose deal for me. Do you want my checking account info or just my Social Security number, pal?
I can't believe anyone falls for this bullshit. I guess they do since every time I sell something I get the same inquiries.
It seems like a lot of work, buying and setting up the website, then replying to every ad posted, hoping to get $45.
Maybe in whatever strange foreign land Victor lives, $45 is worth it.
He’s buying new pagers/walkie talkies for his friends in Lebanon
What is the website's registrar? You might be able to get everything he has setup with them, shutdown....

Now she get to stay working for the rest of her life.

Sounds familiar. My mother in law lost quite a bit too. She’s 100% military disabled so she has an income, but we paid her mortgage and food bills for a month after it happened, She lost all of her savings,
Maybe we ask the Mossad how they would handle it because we don’t have a clue.
Pretty sad this crap goes on without tracking the source and making them accountable.

Too bad it's hosted in Uruguay. Probably not much possibility of touching the them via the hosting company.

I got another one. A very scary email- I need to come up with $1950 FAST!
I suggest you read this message carefully. Take a moment to chill, breathe, and analyze it thoroughly. We're
talking about something serious here, and I ain't playing games. You don't know me whereas I know you very
well and you must be thinking how, right?
Well, you've been treading on thin ice with your browsing habits, clicking through those girlie videos and
clicking on links, stumbling upon some not-so-safe sites. I placed a Malware on a porn website and you
accessed it to watch(you know what I mean). And while you were busy enjoying those videos, your system
began working as a RDP (Remote Control) which provided me complete access to your device. I can look at
everything on your screen, switch on your camand mic, and you wouldn't even notice. Oh, and I've got
access to all your emails, contacts, and social media accounts too.
Been keeping tabs on your pathetic existence for a while now. It is just your misfortune that I stumbled across
your misdemeanor. I gave in more days than I probably should have looking into your life. Extracted quite a bit
of juicy info fromyour system. and I've seen it all. Yeah, Yeah, I've got footage of you doing embarrassing
things in your house (nice setup, by the way). I then developed videos and screenshots where on one side of
the screen, there's whatever garbage you were watching, and on the other part, its your vacant face. With
simply a click, I can send this video to every single of your contacts.
Your confusion is clear, but don't expect sympathy. Honestly, I'mready to wipe the slate clean, and allow you
to move on with your regular life and forget you ever existed. I will offer you two alternatives.
First Option is to turn a blind eye to this message. You should know what is going to happen if you opt this
path. I willsend your video to your entire contacts. The video is straight fire, and I can't even fathomthe
embarrasement you'll face when your colleagues, friends, and famcheck it out. But hey, that's life, ain't it?
Don't be playing the victimhere.
Second wise option is to pay me, and be confidential about it. We’ll name it my “privacy tip”. Lets see what
happens if you choose this path. Your secret will remain private. I will wipe everything clean once you send
payment. You need to make the payment by Bitcoin only. Pay attention, I'mtelling you straight: 'We gotta make
a deal'. I want you to know I'mcoming at you with good intentions. My word is my bond.
RequiredAmount: USD 1950
My Bitcoin Address: 16ePhaZUknRpEiYJxbUZKyZNa1kMgCHUr9
Let me tell ya, it's peanuts for your peace.
Pay Attention: You got one day to sort this out and I will only accept Bitcoins (I've a unique pixel within this
email message, and at this moment I know that you have read through this e-mail). My systemwill catch that
Bitcoin payment and wipe out all the dirt I got on you. Don't even think about replying to this or negotiating,
it's pointless. The email and wallet are custom-made for you, untraceable. If I notice that you've shared or
discussed this email with anyone else, your video will instantly start getting sent to your contacts. And don't
even think about turning off your phone or resetting it to factory settings. It's pointless. I don't make mistakes,
Scott.
Can you notice something here?
And he sent a screen capture from google maps of someone's car near my home.
Reminds me of the chain letters back in the olden days.
Once again, my question is how many people fall for this nonsense? Especially someone savvy enough to have bitcoin and know how to send it.

Too bad we don't have a savvy white hat hacker here who could reverse access to this BitCoin account and clean it out. That would be awesome.

I kept getting scam calls. I told the guy I worked for the US gov and have access to drones. Suddenly the calls stopped.
This was back when drones were making the news for the targets they were attacking.
You could tell from the persons accent they were calling from SWA.

I got a phone call yesterday from "A Sheriffs Deputy" about a subpoena. He asked for me by name. While he was talking I did a quick search of the sheriff office phone directory online. None of their numbers start with the first three that he was calling from so I simply disconnected. He didn't call me back.
A google search after the fact indicates this is a pretty common scam. The "A Sheriffs Deputy" says you've missed a court date where you were supposed to give expert testimony and that you'll be arrested if you don't pay a fine.

Had the same thing, had me thinking hard for a bit, figured out the background and that it was fake, had my wife call the sheriff at the same time who confirmed it was fake and let them listen as I carried on as long as I could to see if they could get more info to get them. Mine was an arrest warrant and they had a decent amount of legit info.
