My Dad traded a motorcycle for lever action 22 that became mine when I was 10. I got rid of it years ago after the firing pin broke and I did not think it was repairable, but I was young and broke. And stupid.

I have been looking to replace that ever since, maybe in magnum.

Savage came out with a new line recently that looks interesting. $379 at Bass Pros. Edit- the one pictured is listed at $539.

I may have to go take a look at one.

Neat. And has takedown feature for storage or transport. With an aluminum receiver this may be a great plinking machine.
Let us know how you like it.

Or try to find a Ciener AR 22 converter. Then you can shoot 22LR out of your AR.

Wouldn't mind having an old Winchester 9422 myself.

Thread divergent. I found a beat to hell 22 pump at the pawn shop once. It was beyond rough. Like broke in the 30s with a front sight crudely soldered on, rusty and wood was dried up rough. But it fit me so like a glove and run like butah. Stupidly passed on it. No clue who made it or what the model was.

Check the wally worlds around you they sell henery rifles now and have really good prices on them. The one up this way had the lever action 22 and 45-70's on the shelf. If i remember correctly, the 22 was 299$

That's a nice looking little rifle. One in .22 WMR would be a great!

If you're looking at a lever action, I second the Henrys. My dad has one and loves it. Super smooth and dead on accurate.

Well you didn't think enough of it to keep it in the first place so not sure what you think will be different this time.

J.A Ciener was garbage and the one of the worst if you ever had to deal with customer service.

There's cmmg among others that are better and have good CSR. However the 22 lever action smokes those 22 AR conversions for not only aesthetics, but cool factor.

I have a Henry also, Golden Boy(?) model. It has what looks like a brass shiny finish on it. Ran fine. Used to complement a 22 revolver we had in the family. I’d get. Rack grade one, the glossy brass looks nice, but mars and scratches like crazy. It ran fine. Just not into cowboy action as much as I thought.

There are few things as grin-inducing than a well broken in slide/pump action gun…

I took my first deer with level action Marlin .30-.30. Maybe that's why, or just the overall nostalgia of the lever action guns themselves, but I do like them - in many cases, better than a bolt action.

I hope you find and can enjoy exactly what you're looking for. The one in the pic you showed is a pretty little gun that looks like it could bring years of joy.

If you value your sanity, do NOT buy a Ciener conversion. Absolute garbage, and that is offensive to garbage. Get a CMMG conversion or better yet, a S&W 15-22.

Winchester lever action and pump action 22s are just plain awesome.

Don't matter brand/age/model, as long as runs good, lever action 22 is a must.

While we are here Hoser, I’ve had good luck with the SWs, but are any of the other AR-22lr dedicated platforms better? There are a couple out there?

All my Right to Bear dedicated stuff has ran like a top.

Edit, and they have 16% off right now on 22LR stuff

CMMG

PSA has them on sale for about $170 every few months or so.

I'd stick with 22 LR. The WMR can have feeding issues.

A RRA TM-22 is $179 at normal prices I believe. I think they have a standard picatinny but don't quote me on that.

Not to sidetrack this thread to much, but Jim just reminded me that I have had the right to continue to bear arms for 22 years now because I just barely managed to restrain myslef from bludgeoning Jonathan Arthur Ciener with one of his non-functional 30 round pre-ban magazines at a gun show in Hialeah, Florida. Whatever anyone's experiences had been with him over the phone or early email in the dark days of the AWB, he was far more odious in person. I am a fairly even-keeled guy and can only think of two times I've ever totally lost my cool. He was the first. I danced a jig of joy the day he was arrested for fraud.
