Scary stuff that is brewing in the UN. Thought I pass on this video that was sent to to me today. I apologize if it has been posted before. I got pretty angry watching this video. Can a UN arms treaty take away our 2nd rights? Lets see em try!

I don't think a UN treaty can take away our rights, as far as I know they aren't allowed to mess with the rights of citizens of a country. But can mess with the country as it pertains to world peace....ect ect.
Besides, I think our gun rights are the least of their worries right now.
EDIT: after watching that video, it seems pretty old. especially after the comment of "we cannot wait till 2006"
What benefits do we get from the UN? It seems to me that it is like having a controlling, jealous girlfriend, that we don't even get to have sex with; but then again, I haven't really looked into it so that is just a knee jerk reaction.

Would it be in bad taste to have a couple UN helmets swinging from a rope or chain during a defensive pistol match?
I haven't had time to watch the video yet, but I'm willing to bet a box of 9mm that they're talking about the global arms trade in weapons that are used in regional conflicts rather than privately owned firearms used for hunting and recreation.
You should make the time to watch the video then. Sure it's biased, but watch it anyway.
I just did. My initial reaction was "this looks like an awesome movie, when's it out and is Will Smith in it?"
But more seriously, not a whole lot of evidence other than people on 'our' side of the argument making doom laden statements. Nothing in the way of documents or speeches from anyone at the UN saying anything about privately owned firearms, mostly seems to be about the illegal arms trade, especially in conflicts in Africa.
UN can do as it pleases but it doesn't affect the constitution of the bill of rights. those can not be changed based off of international law (well except the sleezbag dems will try to get around it at all costs)
We need to say Fuck the UN. they are another thorn in our side, a hand in our pockets and another voice that doesn't need to be heard.
It is an old movie, being used to raise money for a few groups to scare ya into donating.

It sounds like you've just described my ex wife! I wonder if she's working for the UN now.[ROFL1]
