My daughter and I wanna do some phesant hunting, any one know where any good places out east are to hunt? Or if any one wants any company and we can tag along with you on your next hunt. I've been bird hunting a few times and we bolth shoot trap and skeet. Not looking for the pay to hunt ranches, any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Get on the CPW website and start looking at the various SWAs and ranching walk on access areas, pretty much your only options unless you know someone that can get you on to private land.

For public, we always went out to Cope and Joes and hunted the walk in-ins. It's mostly crop circle corners but there's usually a few full field options.

I don't know how successful you'd be without dogs, we always hunted with bird dogs.

Best guide I have found to SWAs.

Guide to Colorado State Wildlife Areas by Dennis McKinney

He actually visited all the areas and has descriptions plus activities allowed.

It's 20 years old so verify the info before going but I have found some excellent free campsites using this book.
