President Joe Biden has decided to issue a pardon for his son Hunter and is expected to announce it Sunday night...

Is anyone in the entire world the least bit surprised?

It's good to be the crooked son of the crooked President. Hope Joe has time left to enjoy all those millions.

Pardoned from everything or just incriminating stuff? [Wink]

But they said he wouldn't in November. I'm so confused.

Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department?s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.

For my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth.

Really?

Does this change anyone’s opinion of him one bit?

Show of hands. Who thought this would not happen?

"For those offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024, including but not limited to all offenses charged or prosecuted..."

I'm shocked I say, shocked, that it covers any crimes as part of his appointment to, and influence peddling as part of, the Burisma board.

While as a father I certainly understand President @JoeBiden’s natural desire to help his son by pardoning him, I am disappointed that he put his family ahead of the country. This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation. When you become President, your role is Pater familias of the nation. Hunter brought the legal trouble he faced on himself, and one can sympathize with his struggles while also acknowledging that no one is above the law, not a President and not a President’s son.

What the president fails to note in his self-pitying statement is that Hunter Biden for years engaged in legal but wildly inappropriate behavior by running a business based on selling the perception of access to his father. The only commodity Hunter had to offer oligarchs in Ukraine, China, and elsewhere was the belief, or hope, that he could put in a good word for them with his dad.

At a moment in American history when honesty has taken a merciless beating, President Joe Biden made a liar of himself.

When outspoken leftists have turned on him, it proves what many have known for decades.

Joe Biden is in the business of protecting and enriching himself and his family above all else, and will say anything to achieve that goal.

I'm still waiting for Biden to step down so Harris can have the title of first female president.

You think he has any more parting gifts?

This is the first time I've ever even heard of an open ended pardon, which covers crimes he hasn't even been charged with over a ten year span... but a Presidential pardon only applies to federal laws, not state.

There are reasons why they're called the Biden Crime Family.

Treason, murder, child rape? What else is in that guy's closet?

Thats interesting, I doubt it will change much but, the door isn't closed yet. Another poke in the Dems eye?

2014 is when Hunter started working for Burisma. He was on the board of BHR Partners, a Chinese private equity firm, from 2013-2020.

Until today, he was still under investigation for possibly violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

It requires "foreign agents"—defined as individuals or entities engaged in domestic lobbying or advocacy for foreign governments, organizations, or persons ("foreign principals")—to register with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and disclose their relationship, activities, and related financial compensation.

With the signing of the pardon, it shuts down any current federal investigations and stops the next administration's ability to go after him for any Federal crime that may have occurred from January 2014 through today.

The more one looks at it, it seems Joe was less interested in his son than he was in covering his own likely misdeeds.

And the ever reliable leftist media isn't so reliable on this one. More negative coverage is appearing by the hour.
