Friends,

It is with as especially heavy heart that I need to tell you that one of our long-time and treasured members, BlasterBob has passed away.

Bob would have been 88 on today so the site sent the automated birthday message wishing him a Happy Birthday. Bob's wife Janet was kind enough to reply and let us know that Bob's on & off battle with cancer finally defeated him and he passed away on November 2nd.

While I only got to meet Bob in person once - at a gun show in Pueblo before he moved to Illinois, I know many members here knew him much better that I did. What I know of him more than anything is that he was a true gentleman.

BlasterBob gave so much to this community and I hope that he felt he got as much back from all of us.

I'd like to encourage all of our members that knew or interacted with Bob to share any memories you have of him here. Perhaps Bob's family will drop in and read about the impact he made on all of us.

This is Bob?s wife replying. I want you to know that Bob passed away Nov 2nd after another battle with cancer. He enjoyed your group and would appreciate you thinking of him on his birthday. I thank you for him. His obituary was in the Mason Funeral Home, Metamora, Il site if anyone is interested in it. He wrote it himself.
Janet

When Bob was doing the local gun shows I some times was set up near him.
We always visited for a while, I enjoyed talking to Bob.
I haven't seen him in years as he moved to Trinidad, then eventually out of state.
He did message every so often looking for a part or asking some question.
I didn't know of his fight with cancer, it just never came up.
He will be missed.

Bob was a giant IMO, he gave me some great insight to living life with cancer and some good advice in dealing with my dad's battle with cancer.

Steady on Bob, you will be missed.

I did buy some ammo from him, so got to meet him in Pueblo in person. Was great to do business with and also enjoyed his posts. I still have some of that ammo, may have to go out and shoot a few rounds in his memory. RIP Bob.
