No one has ever made the argument that weed users are particularly bright, but they all seem to share one or two common beliefs: "It's legal where I live" or "It's no worse than booze, so it should be legal".

The problem with the first argument is it's patently false, everywhere. For instance, weed is not technically "legal" in CO, it's just been "de-criminalized" here. The difference is subtle yet significant.

The problem with the second argument is that it's just plain stupid. Just because you want something to be legal, doesn't mean that it is. Most places in the world look at weed possession the same way they look at cocaine possession - an illegal drug is an illegal drug. Period.

If I were to take many of my firearms into CA, and be caught be the authorities with them, just because they are legal here won't be a constructive defense for me in CA. I'll be going to prison.
