Did anyone mention Cinderella City yet? I became good friends with the owners of the Gun Room (Bill &Lola) and Ikey Starks next door at Sports West when I moved here in 1984. Wish I still had my Ikey built Colt Commander sigh.

Bill made me a few good deal or three on S&Ws.

We have talked about old gun stores in various threads. I remember buying from Deans, Old West Arms and Foothills. Foothills used to have water cooled machine guns set up in the main room. This is all pre 86 timeframe. Unbelievably cool guns on display and for shooting there. We bought an IMI UZI model A, an M1928 Thompson and others then.

Topless hippy girls on CU campus in 1970 (first in person bare breast I ever saw, even shocked my dad)
Wyoming age 19 alcohol- quick trip to load up from FOCO
CSU College Days- a week of no class, 3.2 beer, free concerts (Red Hot Chili Peppers- front row), bikinis, parties everywhere. Tradition til asshole students rioted twice. Fools.
A $20 Vail lift ticket in May: only the top lifts open, everyone wearing swim suits, pools of water to ski into at the bases, bad sun burns (no sunscreen invented yet).
No traffic: 20 min from FOCO to Greeley and 40 min from FOCO to Northglenn mall (Furrs for pigging out).
Sid Kings: ran a couple calls there. Normally, I was too young to go in but a medic uniform and a stretcher opens doors. Nice girls there. It closed just before I was legal.
Ricardo Montalban on TV doing Casa Bonita commercials. Only got to go there on special occasions like birthdays or good grades.

It's distracting as a fly fisherman. A great distraction!!!!! No so much hippies anymore, but rather quite great looking trust fund princesses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first Space Shuttle that crossed from California to Florida made frequent publicity stops. One was at Stapleton. They parked it in that SW area. I think it stayed over night. I drove down from Greeley to see it. About 1981.

Larimer Street area Pawnshops in 1969-70. My brother and I convinced our Mom into dragging us down there a few times when we first moved to Denver and too young to drive.

Unreal bargains back then but a scary place. Good ole Mom!

what's wrong with the new one? Never been (to the new, many visits to the old), just curious.

Since I'm in the west, I'll add "Fun Junction"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYKFA4HmbyI

There hasn't been any permenent/legit park on this side of the state since.

Beyond that, there's not a whole lot that can be missed on this side. I have a short list of restaurants (Bob & Jans, Furrs, etc.)

I worked there when I was 16. Omg the stories I can tell. Best and worst job I’ve ever had.
