View Full Version : Streetracing "sideshow" activity Thornton/Aurora

Hi guys, I have a situation that I'm hoping I could get some assistance with. Basically, I need links to videos of illegal "sideshow" activity in the Thornton and Aurora areas to show someone's mother.

Anyone who is regularly active on social media has had similar clips show up on their feed... an intersection or parking lot where a group of young people encircle an area wherein drivers do donuts and occasionally a car skids out of control and strikes a bystander, usually one who got dangerously close to shoot video on their phone. I do not care about that. As far as I'm concerned that is normal juvenile delinquent behavior, as long as they don't get too stupid with it.

Here's the thing. I do not know anything about tech stuff. I have no idea how to recover "link history" on Instagram and my search attempts come up with nothing. Anyhow, Friday night I clicked on a link that took me to Instagram, then I began scrolling down and saw one of the most insane videos I've ever seen in my life. It was a small account that had only posted 8 videos, all of "sideshow" activity mostly in the Thornton and Aurora areas, I think there was also one from Littleton. It was like watching clips from Faces of Death or something, extreme sociopathic behavior being "normalized."

In each of this videos, the youth seemed predominantly hispanic, and the car appeared unmodified stock, probably stolen. Some of the youths were wearing white T shirts with black lettering on the back and black ball caps. In one of the videos a uniformed police officer was run over and seriously injured.

But here's the crazy part. The spectators did not form a wide circle at all. They were doing donuts in a crowd of pedestrians and seemed to be striking people on purpose. And spectators were deliberately running to position themselves in such a manner that they were at an extreme risk of getting struck. And to make matters worse, none of these drivers had any idea how to control their vehicle, it was like they'd never driven a car before.

Anyhow, I can no longer find these videos. A friend's son sometimes gets a ride to watch these "sideshows," which apparently are announced at the last minute via a secret Snapchat group like a flashmob thing. She is in heavy denial and seems to believe these illegal events her son attends after midnight are perfectly safe and I shouldn't worry.

So, I know its a weird and possibly inappropriate request, but if someone could PM me a link or two that might be helpful. PLEASE DO NOT POST LINKS IN COMMENTS, as those videos were really rough and inappropriate for this forum. It appeared people were getting killed in some of those videos.

Thank you

Is there a specific car or event you are looking for? I have hours of video and hundreds of pics of car meets, racing, private get togethers. etc. I don’t have videos of active crashing as almost all of the meets and get togethers I attend frown apron the donut activities. Usually it’s a mustang driver that loses control and crashes. My son is quite involved in the car scene and does videos for a few of the more popular cars in CO and I go along with him quite often.

These are illegal underground events not connected to any of the car clubs. The cars appeared unmodified, no custom paint, rims, underbody lights, or even stickers. Looked like everyone was 15-20, Hispanic, unskilled at handling their vehicles... profound lack of skill, zero concern for safety, no aid rendered to the injured. These occur around midnight, people get last minute notice via Snapchat and it's like a flashmob type thing, zero organization.

I was able to find 3 videos that were fairly mild, in that the spectators actually gave the cars room to do their donuts. I saw about 5 other videos I was unable to find again, in which the drivers were deliberately hitting people. In one, a spectator was repeatedly backed over, in several they started doing donuts in a crowded parking lot surrounded by people who were getting struck, in others dozens of spectators were deliberately running into the path of the vehicles and getting hit.

Here is an example. This video, shocking as it may be, is actually fairly mild compared to some others. This was in Thornton, a uniformed police officer was struck, do not recall hearing anything about it in the news.

LMFAO

I'm dead serious. In the car scene the mustang drivers are always the ones who lose control and crash. Usually while exiting the event doing a cool burnout. I have been witness to it several times. When a mustang is leaving the meet and hits the road, cameras are out and people know to stay on their toes, as the car is most likely going to veer off and smack something. LOL!!!

If anyone wants hours of video footage of this kind of activity, there is a instagram page dedicated to it. My son tipped me off to it this morning. Search Ispottakeovercrashes on instagram.

Keyword is incorrect.

Found it under iposttakeovercrashes.

Thanks.

There are some crazy videos on there for sure, but the ones I saw from local events actually were a bit worse.

I think attending these events and getting hit while standing just a few feet from where the cars are moving is akin to taking selfies on the edge of a cliff and being surprised when a few people fall and die. It's to be expected that people are going to get hurt at both pursuits.
