Some words to the wise. Shooting Advice from various Concealed Carry Instructors. If you own a gun, you will appreciate this. If not, you should get one and learn how to use it:

●Guns have only two enemies: rust and politicians.

●It's always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

●Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you.

●Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arms length.

●Never say "I've got a gun." If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off. (I prefer the sound of a round being chambered when you load a shotgun)

●The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes, the response time of a .357 is 1400 feet per second.

●The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win - cheat if necessary.

●Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets . . . You may get killed with your own gun, but he'll have to beat you to death with it, cause it'll be empty.

If you're in a gun fight:

1. If you're not shooting, you should be loading.
2. If you're not loading, you should be moving,
3. If you're not moving', you're dead.

● In a life and death situation, do something . . . It may be wrong, but do something!

●If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about? (I call it being prepared)

●You can say 'stop' or 'alto' or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much a universal language. AMEN!

●You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.

One of the things that keeps me awake at night is if I die unexpectedly, my wife will sell my guns for what she thinks they're worth...

Of fuck! Thanks for ruining my sleep for a while too! Haha!

I have a spreadsheet with notes and estimated market values that I update from time to time but sadly I think the CO market for guns is going to plummet. I’d better be sure to move before I die!

If you waited for the threat to present itself to chamber a round in your shotgun, you are an unprepared dumbass.

Right. We say.
Not carrying with 1 in the chamber is like waiting till you're in an accident to put your seatbelt on.

On a serious note. The real question is. If you carry without 1 in the chamber. Why are you even carrying?

My wife knows what I paid, she owns a few of them herself. Anything that is accessible, has a round chambered. If it's in the safe, probably not, unless we locked up for vacation

My wife has very little idea or care what most guns we own are worth. She does know who to call to get realistic valuations and who to talk to about selling in the event I shuffle off this mortal coil before her.

Don't leave your lady with an additional stressor. There's already going to be a shit ton for her to deal with. Have a plan in place. You're going to die. You don't get to pick when.

My favorite answer to weird hypothetical questions was 'That's a gray area. By which I mean add two more zeroes to your legal defense fund to find out for certain.'

My plan is to start selling off and pairing down to only what I wish to be inherited by the time I hit 70.

My nephew in Arkansas will hit the jackpot! He knows to load my trailer with all my goods and beat feet out of dodge.
I only trust him to care for them.
