Just wondering what everyone thinks about Trumps visit to the UAE and the whole maxed-out 747 gift from the Saudi's to the American People. Trump also finalized some Boeing sales of F-15's the prince signed off on. The Left is having a fit, as usual, with no lack of MSM ass kissing. The shameless crap that OAC, Jasmine and other spineless speaking heads of the Democratic party is not helping their cause.

Everyday seems to have another '...you have to be kidding me....!?' moment in the news.

The 747 was a personal gift to Donald Trump, not to America. He should be impeached for it.

I heard it on the radio and on the TV.

I did not hear much about on the radio or the on the TV about all of the awesome inroads he has made with both our allies and our adversaries while on this trip.

That's nonsense. It was a gift from the Qatari government that will be given to the DoD. I don't see it as an ethical issue. I see it as a security issue. With the amount of time and money it will take to upgrade the plane to AF1 standards I'm not sure it saves much in the long run.

I think that it could be a ploy to get Boeing to speed up their delivery of the two new Air Force Ones that were ordered back in 2018.

Delivery date has slipped over the years, first to 2025, then 2026/2027 and now they aren't expected until 2029 or later.

I don't believe that using a 747-8 from a foreign govt as a Presidential transport is wise at all... As Bailey Guns mentioned it will take a lot of time and $$ to upgrade it, and we would never know until it is too late if we found all of those lines of code that may of may not have been added to the flight control system.

That's nonsense. It was a gift from the Qatari government that will be given to the DoD. I don't see it as an ethical issue.

So, used exlusively by Trump as AF1, equipped with opulent luxery and taking tremendous taxpayer money to retrofit, and then given to the e.g. "trump library", is a honest to goodness, gift to the DOD, and not intended to obtain political benefit of any kind, courting trump with favors. Gotcha.

Also Clinton got a (compartatively very inexpensive) helicopter after leaving office, so that means Trump should be able to receive the quintessential equivalent of a bribe (albet, publically), in the order of half a billion dollars, without any objection while serving as POTUS.

This is the fundamental problem with American politics, including evangelicals and the right, as well as the left. Whatever morals are asserted to be had, whatever foundation, platform, values, and very mores, fly out the window when the party gets wrapped up into personality. The core of MAGA is Trump, and the politics cannot be dissected from him. So, whatever Trump does, has to be justified, and "right", regardless of any former idology or values previously asserted to be held.

I'm a fiscal conservative, which is a party that doesn't exist anymore. There is nothing OK about this.

I'll also add - props to his supporters that call a spade, a spade with regard to this. Not all of MAGA has combined personality with politics. Unfortunately, there is likely not enough people to have sufficient accountability in anything at this point in time.

Sure, I agree with you to an extent........ but, and I fully respect your differing opinion, but I also realize that TDS is alive and well in alot of people and maybe you.
US Politicians receiving gifts is nothing new, even hugely expensive ones.
It's what they do with them is the true question here............. IF IF President Trump actuality, NO FOR REALS, start using the thing as his personal A/C, then yes, It'd be very unethical for him to do so.
But it's not a bride, it's wrong and stupid but not a bride.

In the mean time, and we've been thru this for what?.......5yrs now.........?????
The core issue with TDS and its sufferers is that they LOSE THEIR F-ING minds every time he says something.
So for now, he's accepted (supposedly) this gift from them?
So who the f-k cares?
Unless or until he actually starts flying around in the thing, all you are doing is giving him free attention and air time.
And like wise, if he truly does accept this plane but it ends up parked on some tarmac somewhere unused and rusting...........you'll forget all this outrage and move on the next thing he's said and continue to give him all this free press.

Which means the Dems will lose more elections.
So I hope they do keep giving him all this attention............
Oh Wait!!!
This is clearly grounds to impeach him, the Dems need to do that, it worked so well for them in the past.
Better yet, try to assassinate him, that'll teach him....... it wont back fire and make him a Cult Hero.

Clear benefits of cost plus govermental procurement.

In any case-it appears that he has had a very successful trip to the Middle East, both economically and politically in terms of regional stability.

Even some former Biden staff members are kind of in awe over what he's done on this trip.

I'll never be accused of being his biggest fan...or even a big fan...but the dude has some moves and he's not afraid to show them.

Yes, it appears so:
-Trillions in business deals and defense contracts.
-forcing the Iranians to the negotiating table over their nuclear weapons the Dems helped build
-getting the Iranians to scale back their support of the Houthis
-lifting sanctions against the Syrian Govt.

And the Dems, what do they do? Ignore all that and whine about this stupid plane.

To be fair, that is politics in America and has been for decades.
"No matter what good the opponent does, refuse to acknowledge it, and find something- anything- to criticize them for whatever they do."

Thats why you know it was so successful.
The Socialists can't criticize him over policy, the trade deals or the negotiating going on.............. so they are left with the plane.

Just use the gifted 747 as a troop/cargo transport. One less aircraft we have to draft into service when needed.

The plane is a symbolic gift at best, the thing is probably decades old and would have to be completely stripped of everything including the bugs in order to bring it up to current standards. Either way they brokered some good deals and brought some business to a few US companies.

As was said, the Dems got nothing so instead of give any credit to the good coming out of the trip, da plane da plane, oh my God da plane.

MAGA's TDS is the same as the progressives cry of any dissenting voice e.g. being "racist". Two peas in a pod, continually justifying unconstitutional/unamerican governance, only under different colored flags.

Bullshit. Dissenting voice about policy is welcomed and encouraged. Constantly bringing someone up like a jilted school girl gets old.

For a while there, the presidential aircraft was travelling incognito when crossing the ocean. It is now on its way back to the US showing its call sign. I'm glad the foreign tour is almost complete.

Right. The talking point is "Maybe a sitting U.S. president shouldn't accept a half-a-billion dollar gift from sensitive nations, trying to overcome clear prohibitions of the same by calling it a DOD gift... for his exlusive use and the use of his presidential library.".

How often has this come up before? Dang, I didn't realize this was an every day thing.

Now you might have a point if I had said, for instance, who is ... already right?

In a March 31, 2016, interview with the Washington Post, Donald Trump promised to eliminate the United States' $19 trillion in debt in eight years.

(The debt is now roughly 37 trillion, already) - deficit spending is higher now than FY22, 23, 24...

I saw a news segment re: Trump's trip in Qatar and it briefly showed AF1 "escorted" by several Qatari F-15 fighters. My first thought was, "I wonder if those fighters are armed?" I can't imagine it's a real stretch to at least consider the likelihood one of those fighter pilots might try to bring down AF1. Then I was curious how many F-22s might be shadowing the F-15s shadowing AF1.

Good thing the Comey "seashell" post on X happened after that. Might've given one of those pilots the inspiration he needed.

Saudi Arabia is a kingdom. If they don't like you, they will cut your head off with a sword. Before they execute you, they will do things to you where you wish they would cut your head off. I saw a video where a royal princess was thrown against a pile of sand in a public square. Then she was shot to death by an executioner.

My blood pressure is great. You greatly over estimate your self worth and effect on people. I find verbose individuals usually do.
