Curious about the Douglas County Home Rule Election

I got a flyer in the mail about the upcoming Douglas County home rule election, and it mentioned that it would help protect Second Amendment rights. I?m just curious how that would actually work in practice.

Does anyone have more information or thoughts on what this would change? What are the pros and cons you see with Douglas County becoming a home rule county?

Would love to hear everyone's take on this ? especially if you?ve looked into it more than just the flyers.

Well, the state passed the law a couple years ago that said that a municipality can create more strict gun control laws than the state but not less so I doubt that home rule could do anything to help 2A rights. Home rule for the most part means that they collect their own sales tax VS pulling from the state pool.

Yup- A "feature" put in by our progressive betters. Can you imagine the outcry the same criteria was applied to other hot button social issues, such as MJ or the big A?

I don't see anything about gun rights, even licensing, permitting, etc. in the 47 items that the state allows on Home Rule.

But I use Hilton, Not Holiday Inn.
