The Goat and Clover Tavern is really good. Laid back atmosphere and plenty of options for drinks.
Devils Kitchen is also really good. "Fancier" place, good food and cocktails. Didn't seem to offended at my group being in there in Clean FR's and boots, but we were definitely the least "dressed up" in there.
Bistro 317, good food and drinks, slightly fancier/pricier. Blue Moon, good food and drinks, less fancier, Junction Square Pizza across the road from Blue Moon has good deep dish.
Lots of new stuff built around that I haven't seen / have no idea about.

Stop in Montrose for beer & pizza @ The Horsefly
for BBQ...Rib City Grill. I always go the the one in Fruita, but they have a GJ location as well.

Subscribed. I'll be out there for HamCon in October (presenting too!)...

I usually stay downtown at the Tru and walk down to the Feisty Pint. They have moved out most of the homeless to parts unknown.
Hill People Gear has a retail location downtown too.
Cattlemen's Bar & Grill is great. Its a little west of GJ / Fruita

Appreciate all the suggestions. How about Palisade Co?
It's been a long while but there's an OK one main street, Palisade. 357 bar and grill, it's more of a traditional diner.
There's also really high-end winery's out that way with decent menus if that's your style (not mine).
Palisade Brewery had some decent food/drinks but that's been a LONG while, by now it's probably a Colorado hipster drinking/meeting spot.

In downtown GJ, there?s The Rockslide Brew Pub. 401 Main St.
Too bad you can?t stop by in Montrose?.

Time and mileage (120 rt) wise it's out of my way, the 8-10 drive to GHJ from my place is an energy zapper for me.
If you are planning to drive up by way of Moab, be sure to take UT128 to I70 if in daylight, about 1/3 is a great scenic canyon and the other 2/3 is no more boring than the rest of eastern Utah.
I'm headed to the Palisade farm to irrigate tomorrow morning. My restaurant stop nearly every visit is to Suehiro's on the Main St. mall for sashimi and a few pieces of sushi. It's wheelchair friendly. https://suehirosushigrandjunction.com/
I always go bowling with friends there, too, and Sunday is our play day.
