In case you hadn't heard...

Anderson Manufacturing is out of business.

To be more precise, they sold the business to Ruger, who has discontinued the Anderson brand/line of products.

From their website:
https://andersonmanufacturing.com/#:~:text=After%20careful%20consideration%2C%20we%2 0made,accessories%20are%20no%20longer%20available.

The website also states that, with the discontinuing of the business/brand, "As a result, warranty services on Anderson firearms, parts, and accessories are no longer available."

Anderson was pumping out like 300k /year, Ruger is taking over their production line to build more Ruger branded stuff.

Anderson stuff is like beanie babies at this point. Their production was very high.

This makes sense, use their production to make stuff that will sell for more.

I'd be willing to bet there are far more Anderson branded AR's out there than Ruger. Weird move.

The move could easily position publicly traded Ruger to become the largest rifle maker in the country. According to the latest published manufacturing statistics from federal regulators, Anderson produced 338,742 firearms in 2023, with most of those guns (308,566) being serialized AR lowers, a segment of the market that the company had long led. The next most prolific lower maker was South Carolina's Palmetto State Armory (252,735), followed by Washington's Aero Precision (224,333).

When speaking of rifles alone, 2023 production numbers put Massachusetts-based Savage Arms on the top of the pile with 639,591 guns, while Ruger garnered a close second place with 321,160 firearms made in its North Carolina plant and 289,791 in its New Hampshire plant, giving it a total of 610,951 rifles.

One would begin to think the numbers are unsustainable and the market is saturating… Anderson did well and timed their sale perfectly in my opinion.

Truth, ARs are the TVs of the firearm world. Once upon a time, the bargains were $800, now they are cutting down to very low manufacturing margins and the remaining demand is mostly from people coming of age, with a bit leftover from people of lower means coming into windfalls or better careers.

If anyone else wanted an AR, they already have five.

Agree 100% and I know most people with one AR do in fact wind up with several in rapid succession… the “gun bug” is a real thing.

Five is probably a good number. I can’t count much beyond that anyways. Sorta just round to 5.
