Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced she would not run for reelection in 2026, retiring after an almost 40-year career representing her San Francisco district in Congress.
"I have no doubt that if I decided to run, I would win," she had told CNN a few days earlier. "That isn't arrogance; it's competence."
Hopefully Diana Degette follows suit, although I have no faith in the Colorado GOP to run a decent candidate.
Of course, the way the democratic party is trending, we will likely look back fondly on Pelosi's reign, pronouncing her a moderate.
