View Full Version : Brought home a bolt action rifle chambered in .338 Lapua

I was at Jensen Arms the other day and they had received three of the difficult to find Remington 700's chambered in .338 Lapua and sold two online within 5min of listing them and had the third on their shelf just calling my name. I was planning to build a .338 Lapua off of a Sako but at about 1/3 the price this was a hard one to pass up. Deciding on what to go with as far as stock and optic go but it should end up being a pretty solid performer when it's all done. I'm looking forward to sending some 300 grain lead down range.

Nice! Been thinking of building one myself. Bet that thing has some recoil. What is the weight as is?

About 9.5lbs unloaded w/mag & factory brake.

Heard really good things about that round too. Should be a kick in the pants.

Yeah I always wanted a .308 tactical gun, but the more and more I reload and see the ballistics of a 300 WIN MAG, I am going that route.
Already started collecting brass for it...just need a gun[Beer]

I hear ya. I built an AR10 (LR308) a few months ago and am onto my bolt project now.

That will be my next AR is an AR10 or some sort (DPMS or armalite or RRA...whoever, doesn't matter). probably 16" and I'll get a 5 rd. mag so i can take it hunting[Beer]

Depending on what your budget was I may be selling mine. It has a 20" bull barrel so no 16" but it's relatively new all around.
