View Full Version : Where are they now?
So, we've seen a TON of new members show up here lately. It's really made the site a lot more fun (and informative) to post on and I am personally very glad to see such levels of traffic. There are some members that we haven't seen on here for a while though. For example, that RRD03 or what ever his name is. I haven't seen him on here since the latest caliber war thread where Jer made fun of him for saying people could dodge head shots. Jer has him quoted in his sig now, heh.
Anyway, anyone else notice any missing members?

Well, I'm REALLY glad to have that fellow from RMGO on here. Talk about a valuable addition to the board.
As for the others, hopefully the economy is picking up and guys are getting back to work.
I mean, I love talking guns and arguing politics with you fellas, it just don't pay very well....

It is nice to see more people finding this site. AR15.com is turning into a bunch cry babies, plus its nice to converse with locals. [M2]
I havnt seen Hobowh in a while either. Good guy to deal with as far as buying or trading firearms with him.
Ha!.. Should have been hear when I was talking too myself....[ROFL1]
I didn't like the site as much when I first started because it was so dead and I couldn't find a lot of good info on NFA stuff. Now the site is pretty kicking and I've (along with other members) been able to weasel some more info out of some of the NFA owners.

I was just thinking how it had been awhile since I had anything worth saying. Between the move, new business, and baby I haven't much time to type. Of course, I also haven't had anything constructive to say either.

I would love to post more, but I remember a parable my father told me about everyone assuming I was an idiot, and not opening my mouth and removing all doubt. So I just love to read and if I have anything to say, I'll say it.
Oh yea made it home safe from Iraq. When my guns get here I will be joining you for some noise production.

So, I thought about starting this very same thread a couple of weeks ago. I'm horrible with names so, please forgive me for forgetting you name if you are still here.
I've been wondering what happened to:
(a) That really nice guy from the Denver area who has cancer and folks from this site helped him move stuff @ his house this past spring or summer.
(b) The guy from the Western Slope who was active about a year ago and always seemed to ruffle feathers, even starting some very heated "discussions" - especially with his tin-foil hat conspiracy threads.
(c) AR Will - I think he used to be a mod here. He is the reason I joined up on this site. I saw him wearing his CO-AR15 shirt @ the Fox & the Hound here in the Springs where he worked at the bar. He started selling a lot of his stuff and then just disappeared.
(d) WillysWagon - Another mod here. Still posts from time to time but since we helped him move out of his old house he hasnt been seen too much (not like he used to).

I've gotta say, I miss those folks!
I`m still here... my wife got some really bad cancer on Thanksgiving.. posting is not as fun as it use to be. life is hard for me, but reading all your post daily helps me forget for a moment.
Sixgun, I hope things go well for you and it is good to hear that people posting can give you a little, if temporary, get away.
Ginsue: The guy people helped move is Tristan. I've seen him post a little, but not for a while. Hope everything is alright with him. I think he lives way up north though.

he went nuts and tried publicly posting about how bad a person I was,
Well, how bad of a person are you?
I got yelled at through pm's from some mods about how they were treating some guy who mentioned something about native american culture or something. It was something along the lines of a guy posted something that I thought was dripping with sarcasm, but it turned out that he was serious. I always wanted to know the back story of that whole situation, but I couldn't get any more info out of the mods. Was this the same guy perhaps? Able to turn any conversation into a debate about the ongoing persecution of native tribes by the us government or something? Ring a bell?

Is this the same guy that started the whole skinwalker thread where he was claiming to have seen humans turn into werewolves?
I remember the skinwalker thread, but the Native American guy actually didn't say he saw anything because he didn't want to talk about it at all. It was some other random dude who started the thread. I came off with the impression that talking about Skin-Walkers was akin to saying "Lord Voldemort" instead of "He-who-shall-not-be-named."

But a timely thread, I have been wondering whatever happened to 2ndChildhood, aka "2C". Anyone know? He was the first guy I met from the forum a few years ago, went to the North site and let me try his new RRA 16" - first rifle I ever shot. Also met another guy there who 2C said was a member here, think his screen name was "Ruger"(?), who let me try his then-new AR-30 in .338 Lapua Mag that same day. Quite the intro to riflery!
Actually, on that note I should give the newer members a word of advice...
Get out now! Your bank accounts will thank you later!

I too have gotten sick of a lot of the crap going on at Arfcom, and am trying to dedicate myself more to our "local" site. I really look forward to making some of the shoots this year, provided that I can get time off from work.

Gee, for some reason I thought I'd made an ass of myself around here, but maybe that was on arfcom where it's standard procedure.
I had a pretty crappy summer last year, spent a week in the hospital after suddenly discovering I was one of the 1 in 1000 that has severe reactions to Lyrica. Ended up selling my AR (and some other stuff) to pay the bills - Ambulance rides ain't cheap.
Still shooting when I can afford it, have both 1991a1's as well as all my hunting rifles, most of my revolvers (had to sell a S&W) and my sons have their .22's.
If I haven't pissed off too many people, I'll try to stop being a stranger.
Thanks,
Bob

Get your butt back here Bob.
Sorry to hear about hte rough time you have last summer. I hope that you're doing much better now.
Pissing people off occasionally is the way to go on this forum. But, unlike arfcom, no one USUALLY gets too nasty or hostile. Check out the the "Go to home defense SHTF firearm" forum (http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?p=158661). The last two days have been a major pissing contest. Hopefully no one gets hurt feelings out of it and everyone stays active here.
