The wife and I are thinking about moving to Parker in the next few months, I figured I would ask if anybody has any insight. We both work in the I-25 and E470 area and wanted to get closer to work. Also, we live in Cherry Creek now, and it just doesn't fit. Is Parker an alright place, should we be looking at, say Lone Tree instead? Any words of wisdom on neighborhoods to look for, for a couple young renters with no kids? Thanks

Don't be afraid to go a bit further east, Centennial/SE Aurora out near 470 and Smokey Hill and such. Hell I might have a great deal on a 3 bedroom sublet for ya here in a few days.

I grew up in Parker. Used to be a real nice place. It still is if you don't mind alot of traffic and stop lights. My sister lives in stonegate. It seems lie a nice place. I would stay west of parker road f you work at I-25, but that's just because I hate parker traffic with a passion.

Traffic during rush hours is really horrible into Parker because there are only a couple good ways to get in and out. Also, I think SE Aurora and Centennial are awesome, with better accomodations for young couples. KFInn is actually renting out a couple rooms in his really nice house in SE Aurora if that is what you are looking for. If you want some REAL insight feel free to send me a private message

I've lived here for 7-8 years, traffic ain't that bad. I don't know if the new bypass from Hess Road to I-25 is open yet, but that should help out a lot with the traffic. The folks living south of town are the ones that really have the traffic hell, that bypass will be great for them. I'm in Clarke Farms, which would be SW Parker, I guess.

Sure has grown like hell around here though.

My fiance is from Parker. She grew up there and the town has seen incredible growth in the past 20 years. Traffic is a bit of a drag down Parker Road/Hwy 83 during busy hours, but the town has everything you would probably need from multiple malls within 20 mins to lots of wide open spaces to the south and east. It's nice being pretty close to Denver, but at the same time, there are plenty of places around Parker that offer lots of privacy and good accommodations for kids/family life should you decide to venture in that direction. School systems are pretty good (compared to what I grew up with in Michigan) but if you're looking for that "small town" feeling, I'm afraid Parker may be on it's way past that with it's fast growth and development.

Hope this helps!
