yeah that was sarcasam ..............

New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has spoken out against plans to stage the trial of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, accused mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, at the federal courthouse in Lower Manhattan, joining a growing chorus of people who believe the epic trial will be too disruptive and expensive for the city.

“It would be great if the federal government could find a site that didn’t cost a billion dollars, which using downtown will,” he told reporters on Wednesday.

“It’s going to cost an awful lot of money and disturb an awful lot of people,” he said. “Can we provide security? Yes. Could you provide security elsewhere? Yeah, and I mean — the suggestion of a military base is probably a reasonably good one. Relatively easy to supply — to provide security. They tend to be outside of cities so that they don’t disrupt other people."

Gee Wasn't he already at a secure military base well outside any american cities??....... oh yeah.. it's called GITMO.

the retardedness here is shocking. How does this man put his shoes on everyday ? must be slip on's or velcro because tying a knot is wayyyyy above his mental level.

I'm actually at a loss for words but I'm nodding in agreement.

There's a republican congressman (can't remember who) who is PROMISING the trial won't happen in NY if he can help it. I wouldn't be surprised if Obama decides - all by himself because no one else saw the dangers, of course - to hold the trial elsewhere.

There's a lot of pressure working against holding them in NYC.

why even put him on trial? he isn't a citizen of this country and killed thousands of our citizens. he should have been killed the minute they finished interrogating him.

sorry but I have no sympathy for these people.

I always love hearing about non-U.S. citizens Constitutional rights needing to be addressed. Um, correct me if I'm wrong here but doesn't the Constitution only apply to U.S. *CITIZENS*?

I'm still just as shocked and pissed as when I posted this last night ...

I just don't get how these government officials are too dumb to see this kinda thing coming . I Knew it would cost a crap load of money and would throw lower Manhattan in to a maze of cop cars and federal agents armed to the teeth. How can these .. "men" that have been to college, are older then I ( there for having worldly experience) not figure this crap out ? I did.. hell I'm technically a high school drop out !!!

I'm reminded of a Lewis Black quote at the moment....

"If it weren’t for my horse, I wouldn’t have spent that year in college."

I feel the aneurysm building right now.. I think I need to go lay down .. or have a stiff drink ... maybe both.

Nothing like creating extra problems out of sheer stupidity. Oh, wait, it's the Obama administration. Never mind.
