New to the Colo Spgs area, moved from California where it's not very gun friendly or any type of friendly for that matter.

Looking forward to maybe meeting a few folks and doing some shooting and maybe some hunting.

Welcome. Well, CO (and Colo Spr) is a hell of a lot more gun friendly than CA is by far.

Don't be afraid to jump into the different forums. This site is only as good as those who participate.

I just re-read your original post. Seems you're interested in possibly doing some hunting.

Best advice I can offer - if you're looking to hunt in the Mtn's..aka "At elivation" - is to get up into the mtn's early and do a little hiking. Get a feel for the alttitude and help your body get used to it BEFORE you're up there hunting.

Lots of folks fail to consider the effects that elevation can have on your body; especially as you exert yourself while hunting. It will fatigue you much more quickly. It will dehydrate you easily. It can make you nauseaus (sp?) and give you nasty headaches.

The better you prepare yourself physically for it the better your experience will be.

Hmmm, that might explain why I spent more time crawling around feeling like I was going to die and having diarrhea instead of actually "hiking" when I made an attempt at my first 14'er.
