tryed to search it and all I could find is that it means first to find. That does not sound right

Face to Face, referring to a Face to Face transaction. People prefer face to face because in order to ship a weapon, you have to work through an FFL which adds on extra cost and unnecessary back ground checks and stuff.

Could also mean "Failure to Feed" if you're having issues with a handgun/rifle.

I had the hardest time figuring out all the different acronyms and even jargon in the gun culture.

Also, on occasion, "failure to fire"

FTF Firearm definitions -

Face to face - refers to a face to face sale. This just means the seller wants to meet you in person to complete the transaction, often to establish trust, avoid shipping costs, or avoid use of an FFL.

Failure to feed - refers to the failure of a gun to feed the next round of ammunition into the chamber...

Failure to fire - refers to an incident wear a weapon fails to fire on trigger pull. this could be due to any number of reasons...

and just because it's related to the first two,

FTE refers to

Failure to Eject - or when a gun fails to eject the spent casing of a round.

Good question Bitter Clinger.

I remember having to ask the meaning of LOTS of acronyms used on this site when I first signed up - and I still see some that I don't understand.

At first I was afraid to ask - too many bad experiences on other forums for showing weakness/ignorance. I soon found that my fears were unwarranted as everyone was happy to share their knowledge with me (as I'm sure you can see is happening with you on this thread).
