View Full Version : Scope for AR and FAL
I just got an AR-15 carbine (flat top). Would like a scope for it that I can also use on the FAL I want to get. So planning on max magnification some where around 8-10x. What brands/models do you guys recommend? I've always liked Leupold just from the hunting people I know, but not sure if there are better options for AR type rifles.
Thanks,
Bryan

I have herd good things about Super Sniper scopes, Lots of good reviews on them over @ AR15.com lots of guys who just dumped a crap ton of money on a .50 BMG opt for these scopes. Am looking at getting one soon for a SASS build. There QC is way better since they are owned by Bushnell now. I think or Tasco sold to Bushnell something like that

I'm a huge fan of IOR valdada optics. They're a little expensive compared to some but cheaper than Ziess and Smidt&bender. Crystal clear and built like tank.

What ever ya get make sure it is a good one. Fal's are notoriously hard on glass. The only cheap one that I have had last was the Leapers STANAG and I think that is because it uses a pointer etched in the glass.
Don't want to hyjack the thread but you are talking about IOR scopes.
Trying to pick a good scope for my new Armalite AR10T, was leaning towards an IOR in a 10x56, I like the MP8 reticle, approximately $800.00 then I came accross a Zeiss 3.5-10x44 Conquest that is marked down to $560.00
Is the IOR worth the extra ?

B-Ry--I was in the same position as you, looking for a scope for my M4gery and my FAL. I ended up buying a Super Sniper SS10x40 and am impressed with the optics and the quality feel it has. It seems like it should cost more than the $300 asking price. One of these days, I'm actually going to mount the thing. I just need 30mm rings.
