View Full Version : Condition II - Why? (With Video)
Do you really think you can draw, rack the slide, aim, and fire your firearm when you're being shot at in an instant? What if you get hit in the arm or hand and it's rendered disabled, can you still pull your firearm, cycle the slide, and fire it with one hand and a major adrenaline surge? If your answer is Yes without a doubt, I'd like you to watch this video (that and I'll tell you flat out that you're full of shit and seriously need to think it through). After several failed attempts to chamber a round it's clear that it's an entirely new ball game when you think you're goin to die. Granted he was pretty much dead in the water, but he still could have caught one or more of these guys as he went down.

Fuck! I have dreams like that all the time; where my pistol malfunctions and I just sit there pulling the trigger and nothing happens.
Did they even take anything?
Here is a video where a guy can cycle the slide on a G35 one handed.(I'm sure this has been seen before)

I don't see him manipulate the slide at all. Did he just have a round already in the pipe?

Not one in the pipe. Watch again. He uses Ke to rack the slide. Let us know how it goes after you try it for yourself. Note: stop trying before your arm hurts. Don't ask me how I know.
Pretty sure loaded mag in the gun, none in the pipe, and hammer down is condition III. It's also known as Isreali Carry. Condition II is more for 1911 style, loaded mag, one in the pipe, hammer down. I'm personally not a fan of either...

Dang!! I want him on my side!
I imagine he must have some insanely light recoil spring then.
The poster of the video claims it's a stock spring.
seems like a silly maneuver to me.
I predict that we'll see it soon in a hollywood blockbuster, then g's and dbags across the country will have lots of ND's trying to copy it.
There is a walk through of how to do it, but the video is 4 minutes long so I'll watch it later.
Just watched the how to video. Basically the guy says, "You do it like this, but I can't explain it." This seems even harder than racking the slide by holding the gun behind you and kicking it with your shoe...but I'm going to try it anyway.
Don't try it with an M&P40 compact....especially if you're 50 and have a bum shoulder.... My mechanic is now useless for at least an hour [LOL]http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/images/smilies/sm-bitchslap.gif
note:no live ammo was used, only snap caps, his S&W, my laughter
An M&P40 compact is exactly what I'm going to try it with. Then with my CZ.
Maybe I should swing through a drive through liquor store on my way home first....

I wonder how he'll pull it off when he's being shot at.
To his defense in the next video in the sequence, where he tries to explain it, he does say that it is just a gimmick, and not really a technique.
Wow that poor bastard just trying to defend his livelihood.
Just keep one in the hole. [Coffee]
Okay, so I tried this with both of my guns. I can only get the slide to move back enough to cock the striker on my M&P. The CZ you have to pull the hammer back and then it is the same thing, just enough to know it moved, but not even close to being able to have it hold back on an empty mag.
Oh yeah, and the effort gave me a head ache. I'm sure a boxer could get it down pretty fast though.

oh man my freaking arm hurts like hell now from trying it with a brand new never fired g23c i just cant get it to happen man time to take some ibuprofen
I can get one chambered in my G26, haven't tried it wet (the thought of blood being present is another thought to chew on) but I still don't see why anybody is willing to give up the extra time to cycle the slide; sure it's not very much time at all but it could mean life or death. I would think that your chances of shooting your fingers off are a little higher if your support hand is just leaving the slide while your finger is on the bang switch - again, things probably won't go the way you've trained with a massive adrenaline rush - so it can happen. Idk, maybe I'm just Over thinking the whole thing but one things for sure, it's one in the chamber for me.
I carry it condition 1. I find it much too questionable if condition 2 can be done with accuracy and precision during an intense moment like that
