View Full Version : GSSF Purchase Cert: Get a G35 (and wait) or a G34 (in-stock) tomorrow?

I've been wanting to pick up a Glock G35 using my GSSF Purchase Certificate. As there are tons of people complaining about the changes made to the program (prices rise by $25-30), I want to use mine as soon as possible before the program is canceled (which I could see happening). The current certificate is good until April 2nd.

Since I was thinking about heading over tomorrow to get it, I decided to call the only shop in CO that accepts the GSSF certs, only to find out they don't have any G35's in stock. But, he does have one G34 in stock. The reason I'm wanting to get the G35 is so I can grab a LWD 40-9 conversion barrel and have essentially two guns in one. But with the G34 I couldn't be able to do that.

Also, I don't want to order through Ed's Public Safety or OMB Guns as I don't want to deal with the hassle of paying shipping or for an FFL transfer.

SO, this begs the question. Do I wait on picking up the G35 from my local shop (who has them on order and just waiting for them to arrive) and hope they get them in before the April 2nd deadline, OR do I head over in the morning and pick up the G34.

I do not reload, so the G35 would be more expensive in the long run ammo wise, AND I'd also be picking up the 40-9 barrel down the road which adds another $125 to the overall pricetag.

Thoughts? Opinions? I had my heart set on the G35, but assumed I could stroll down one day and let it follow me home. Since I can't do that, I face this Earth-shattering, life-altering, decision! http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/images/smilies/anim_rofl2.gif

If your heart is stuck on the G35, get the G35. Can you travel to Denver or maybe even down to the Springs? Get what you want, don't settle.

Heart isn't set on it, but planned on getting it for the 40-9 conversion barrel to make it 2 guns in 1. Plus, I have quite a bit of .40 needing to be used up or at least a dent put into it.

I can travel anywhere in Colorado, but there is only 1 gun shop in Colorado that accepts the GSSF Purchase Certificate at the LEO price. Otherwise, I'd be stuck paying for it at full price... and why would I want to do that? [ROFL1]

edit: And it wouldn't be settling, the certificate expires on April 2nd as they are switching to the new GSSF Purchase Certificates even though I just got my certificate a week ago.

You've already made up your mind. Waiting sucks. Embrace the suck.

Well, I have a big interview down in the Springs on Monday, so I think I'll swing back by the shop on my way through Denver and look at the G34. That'll at least give it a few more days until the G35's arrive, and I can also find out when they submitted the order for the 35's (as I have a pretty good time range of how long they should get them in based on members on GlockTalk waiting for G35s), or if they are just waiting for some to arrive with a regular shipment.

In the meantime, I think I'll hit up Wallyworld a few more times to see if I get lucky enough to score either 9mm or .40.
