Which Guns are actually made in the USA? About 20 years ago, I began only buying GM or Chrysler cars new or used. I know Chrysler was owned by Mercedes when I got my Charger but I couldn't help myself. The last gun I bought, the Walther PK380 was made in Germany but owned by S & W. It's getting hard to buy American anymore. But is any guns actually made be American hands?

There's a lot of entirely US made guns out there.
Kimber, Kahr, Some Sigs, Some Berettas, Springfield 1911s (not the XDs though), Para Ordnance are now made in FLA, Most AR15s are American made (in fact I don't know of an AR import), Rugers are all US made, same with most S&Ws.
I still fail to see the point of buying American Made when you're supporting anti-American labor unions like the UAW.
EDIT
Look here http://www.americansworking.com/guns.html (although thats a pretty incomplete list)

I have come to the point in life, where i'm more concerned about reliability vs. where it's made. a good foregin car or forearm(OOPS)FIREARM (dooh) will be in my possession quicker than a sloppy mfg gun or car made in America. Which BTW has come to mean North America encompassing
CehNehDeh and Old Mexico.

I knew I would get some flack for the MIA, unions and all; but I think it's still a better option than sending the dollars overseas.

I hope you don't take this stance on everything, or you will be walking around naked. That a lot of exposure for Mr. Snuffalufagus.[Tooth]
Most guns are, with few exceptions except when you get into shotguns and some bolt rifles.
I don't care where they are made to be honest, I want something that works, is going to keep on working and will stand up to the test of time to be handed down several generations.

Heck yeah! I'm not going to take a chance on another union made forearm. My entire left arm has never worked quite right ...
If US made guns were of inferior quality, I'd agree. If I was into tupperware pistols I'd probably go with Glock, for example. But with Colt, Springfield, S&W, Remington, and Ruger, nearly all of my needs can be fulfilled domestically. I do really want a Sig, so someday I'll have a total of 3 foreign firearms.
Half my "collection" is foreign made..
M91/30, M38, M44, M95, K31, Enfield,, et all....

Well those dollars have to come back at some point or they're useless ... and the unions do more damage to America than foreign companies.
But I'm not likely to talk you out of your "Only Buy American" stance ... and frankly as far as firearms go, at least the American gun companies aren't trying to ruin America (can't really say that for the car companies).
Bill Ruger is dead and S&W are owned by pro gun American folk instead of statist Brits now, so there's really nothing to worry about there. Plus Americans make better guns than cars anyway.
You should be able to find plenty of American made guns to fill your safe.

If American companies can't make a product that's worth buying, that can compete with foreign made, why subsidize it? I'd prefer to buy American, absolutely, but the American companies should be able to make a product superior to others and it seems that doesn't always happen. If they want Americans to buy American, then make a product that we'd be proud to buy and I will. My M14's are American made, as are my AR's, Remingtons, my Mossberg 590, and so on.
My truck, however, is a Toyota. An '06, before they started having problems too. Ford may win my business next, fair and square.

Keep in mind that foreign made firearms have to come into the country through a US importer.
I just bought a CZ and more of the cost of a new CZ goes to the good folk at CZ-USA in Kansas City than makes it to the folk in Brno, Czech Republic. Add to that the Americans employed in the shipping industry along with the Customs Dept and you'll probably find that Americans make almost as much off foreign firearms as they do American made ones.
Furthermore, do we know where the steel for American made firearms comes from? No way to guarantee they're using 100% American steel (or aluminum, etc)

Ruger? It's not made in Germany?
Their major spokesman and huge investor is Hank Williams JR, made in Prescott, AZ! I've even seen his stage set up as a giant Ruger symbol.
Chrysler is being bailed out by FIAT so scratch them off you list.

DSA will sell you a US made FAL. I found out the other day that they are now making there own bolts. One of the last items that had always been surplus or imported.
Not to go off subject, but I just don't believe in rewarding a company because they're US based. I want the best value... Quality divided by Price. I'd love it if they are an American company, but I'm not going to limit my search to them. If an American company isn't making the best product, then supporting them means they won't be forced to innovate.
Same thing with the car company bailouts... The more the unions and the "Existing Methods" are kept afloat, the less buyers will look at the new upstarts. Here's an American made car I can't wait to buy for a daily driver: http://aptera.com/ It'll go great in the garage next to my Jeep that almost has enough clearance to fit this underneath.

The OP was talking about cars too ... if you read the rest of my posts in this thread I make the point that at least American gun manufacturers aren't that bad.

... and the unions do more damage to America than foreign companies.
What does damage to America is companies commiting treason by shipping OUR jobs overseas to places where people labor under near slavery conditions. Do you think you save any money on anything because it may be foriegn made? Do you think that pair of Nike tennis shoes or Levi's blue jeans are cheaper because they are made in China? Too many of us have bought the lie that it is too expensive to produce anything here. Offshoring increases corporate profits and investor's returns, but breaks the back of the middle class...
Yes, the old school unions need to adapt to changing times, but the unions are about the only protection a regular blue collar guy has anymore if he is lucky enough to be represented. I sincerely wish the plumber's union was stronger here in Colorado, I would join in a heart beat. I also wish Hewlitt Packard and IBM and the other big tech companies would unionize and keep good paying white collar jobs here. Because, guess what, its not just manufacturing being pushed out anymore. I'm fucking sick of being sold out by not only my own government, but by big business as well.
Ok. Rant over, but I make an effort to buy American made products whenever possible. China already gets too many American dollars.
Sorry about the thread hijack, but this is a very sore subject for me.

If the world was one big free market then I agree. Buy the best product. But it's that way. I feel like we're in fight for our way of life. So screw the world. I'm buying American.
