Hello All, should be getting a call from Jeffco here soon to come pick up up my CCW, I will be carrying a .40 USP Compact condition 1, I just recieved my crossbreed holster an I have been adjusting an readjusting the cant, finally got it right, and the holster still has to break in a little bit, but it got me thinking, and I tried googling it but what is the law about printing? I dont get any print but what happens if I happen to? Is it a criminal offense if I do on accident? Any info is definitely appreciated.
Some states have issues with printing, but you won't have any problems in this state. Besides, you'd have to have some SERIOUS printing going on before anyone would even take notice. You've have to have a barrel sticking out of a hole in your shirt or something. heh.

Have a buddy who has a CCW take a look at you, walk around a store with you, things like that, and comment on what he sees. Once it's hard for someone who has a trained eye to know (but maybe not impossible) then typical folks will never notice.
It probably won't be printing that gets you, since most holsters are pretty darn good about covering that anymore. More than likely while walking, your arms aren't going to swing correctly. The one covering your gun will "hover" for a while. You're going to try to "protect" the gun subconsciously. You're going to try to adjust everything constantly.
So wear your empty holster all the time now. Concentrate on walking as naturally as possible. Just relax, and wear it all the time while at home. Take out the trash, get things off of high shelves, bend over a lot, and just get used to moving naturally and not acting like you have a weird hip disorder, and you'll be fine.

Good tips, thanks Chad
The problem with wearing an empty holster, is that the most likely part to print is the grip of the gun. There is no where on earth I'd be worried about just an empty holster printing. You can reach over your head and look under your car all day long with an empty holster because the grip of the gun isn't there for your shirt to hang up on.
Chad's got good tips. I'd practice carrying around your house for the whole day as well.
just to make sure your question was answered, no CO does not have an issue with printing. now that does not mean that every cop knows this.
best thing to do is before you go out just do a double check of yourself to make sure it isn't obvious that you are carrying. most people won't think twice if they see a bulge on your hip thinking it is for a cell phone, but another CCW or a cop might know a bit better.
I also 2nd/3rd walking around your house and getting a bit more comfortable carrying. this time of year it is very easy because you can wear a coat or a light jacket and never have an issue, in the summer is a bit more of a challenge where a nice low profile gun/holster comes in handy under a t-shirt

Your question has been answered, but I thought I would throw a couple other points out there.
1.
Especially if this is your first time carrying. YOU know you are, but like others have said "almost" no one else will. You may feel like you are carrying a flashing neon sign around. You are not, as long as you do not treat it that way.
2.
Sitting down. Doesn't sound too hard, right? Try it in a tight fitting chair with arms on it. If you do not allow a bit of extra space on your gun side, you "could" catch it on the arm of the chair on your way down, possible knocking it loose. The last thing you want to do, is have your gun hit the floor.
I join the rest who say to wear it around the house. Doing everyday activities there, may alert you to possible changes you might have to make, when you are out in the community. Get comfortable with it. Pretty soon it will become second nature, and you will not even remember you have it on.

I open carry daily, and almost no one notices at all. Even printing considerably while carrying concealed, no one will notice unless they are looking for it.
