Ok since I can't hunt pigs here I want to go on a archery bear hunt this year. My question is what is a CAP as in over the counter with CAP? I have looked for a definition and can not find one, Any other information about black bear and archery were to go and so on and so forth would be greatly appreciated.

... not sure what the CAP is. Years ago we were allowed to bait the bears, since that is no longer an option, there isn't much hope in finding/shooting a bear without some just dumb luck or an old elk carcass that you recently killed and are sitting on it and waiting...

a couple of friends last september did stumble across a black bear, no license, so no shot. :(

A cap is a reference to the amount of licenses that will be sold. It's first come first serve until they reach their limit. I'm not sure what the limit is by it goes by GMU.

just go get your license early. they limit the number of over the counter licenses so get it relatively quick.
