First off, very nice build. You have to let us know how it shoots! [UZI]
Just curious...why did you go with the TLR-2? For a CQB carbine it's fine, and it's a quality little light. I have a TLR-1 on my duty sidearm. With the Eotech, I can tell you didn't build it for distance shooting. I've just heard, "Pistol lights belong on pistols." And with the Eotech, the laser is, well, redundant?
I'm not trying to knock you, I've mounted my TLR on my carbine before out of necessity, but I just think maybe a little bigger light might suit you better. Just my opinion, and no one else's. I'm saving for a better gun light for my carbine too.

I actually took it off one of my pistols. I have 2 of them. I works pretty good for a light. I don't have the money right now for a bigger light.. plus i can fit the spare batteries in the vertical grip. Yes the laser is overkill hehe.. I still haven't shot it since i got the Eotech. But even when i had a cheap red reticule sight I was able to hit a pop can from 50 yards every shot until the sight broke... pretty sad it couldn't handle a 223 lol... guess thats what you get for 30 bucks tho.. The laser may come in handy for bump firing? idk, no real purpose for it.

There are several of us that use what were formerly consider "pistol" lights on our AR's for several reasons. For me it was weight and form factor. Yeah, not a ton of weight savings over the G2LED all said and told but every bit counts these days, not to mention a much smaller form factor. Also consider the basic TLR-1 has the same lumens output as the G2LED (max output 80 lumens), there's no loss there. Now move up to the TLR-1C4 and that bad boy throws 130 lumens at peak performance (e.g. using the right batteries and such), even with a decent mount for the G2, the TLR-1C4 is only about $15 more.
I'll agree that the TLR-2 is a less than optimal choice but from my perspective it has more to do with how far the laser is sitting off bore than the fact that there is an EOT mounted.
But hey, use what ya got until you get what you need.
So where's our range report?
