I have a friend that bought a dragunov, and he's looking for 5 round mags for hunting. He hasn't had any luck finding them, and I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Do they make 5 round mags for the dragunov?

If they don't, is there a modification that he can do to make it hold only 5 rounds?

Is it a Dragunov SVD, or the Romanian PSL? Either way, they are going to be hard to find. His best bet would be to run a screw or bolt through the mag to limit it to 5 rounds.

As an aside, last year Grizzly Mike told me that he was going to start carrying PSL magazines. I don't remember what the price was that he told me, but it was a good deal, better than anything you'd see online.

Like Birddog says tho; is it a Romanian PSL/Not a Dragunov, or is it a real Dragunov? The PSL mags won't work in a Dragunov and vice versa.

DON'T RUN A BOLT THROUGH IT..

use a block of wood inside of it instead..That way He can remove the block and use it after the season is over..

Besides, the block of wood is "harder" to remove than a bolt is.. Thus if I recall how the reg is worded, "if" Joe Wildlife dude can remove the mag block easily, He may get popped for a no-no.

If it is a PSL the early DIG imports came with 5 rd mags in anticipation of a ban that never happend.

These were 10 rounders to start. The main reason I will not part with mine is they are SN matching to the PSL.
