I stopped at boulder gunsport today on my way home, they had a box of.45 230gr horandy jhps for 19.99. not tooo bad a deal i guess, but on my way out i just asked what ther price on umc 10mm was and it was somewhere around 40 bucks per 50!!!!!!!![Help]

but i guess if someone is really starved they had around a half case on the shelf.....

10mm is a handloader's round.

Training ammo is not cheap in 10mm therefore it is generally best to reload.

Premium defense ammo is exactly the same price as 45ACP.
DoubleTap ammo list 10mm and 45ACP at the exact same price. $41/50 rounds

Midwayusa.com lists Reminton/UMC 10mm training ammo at $26/50 rounds (out of stock but backorder ok at that price)
They also list Reminton/UMC 45ACP training ammo at $24.99/50 rounds

Not to bad IMHO. Just a slight preimium for training rounds on what some would consider an obscure round.

Sounds like your local dealer is living the capatilist dream or as some call it price gouging.

You should be able to talk the guy down at Gunsport. He's pretty easy to deal with, and a nice guy over all. I believe his name is Mr. Shackleton.

I bought a bunch of brass and bullets right after getting my G20 just so I wouldn't have to pay out the nose for 10mm ammo.

I'm really cheap, I cast my own bullets for the 10mm.

FWIW Green Mtn had about a dozen boxes of CCI Blazer 200gr for $27.95 this afternoon (Friday) if I was reading the tag right....pretty square deal since that seems to be what I've seen online.

I was just about to post the same thing about GMG. They had several boxes of 10mm for a decent price. Ross at Gunsport is a really nice guy. He dropped the price of a used/LNIB Kahr PM9 for me when I jokingly said that I wished it was $50 cheaper. It ended up as my favorite carry gun.
