I have a glock 37 which is .45 GAP. I was noticing that only the barrel and the slide are stamped GAP. Can I get an ACP slide and barrel to make the change in rounds fired?

Seems to me like a barrel ought to be enough. I haven't looked, but maybe you can find a Storm Lake or KKM.

The acp is too long...no go.

Is the barrel shroud shorter as well? That would certainly make a difference. One other thing I didn't think of was the mag well size. If I remember correctly, the grip is narrower from front to back in the GAP models and the magazine is similarly narrow; the big "improvement" originally touted by Glock being the smaller grip.

I tried to navigate glocks web address and failed miserebly trying to find specific info.

Also never would have thought there would be any legalities in doing such a conversion. Very similiar in changing my upper on the assualt rifle. I can change calibers, barrels, etc on the ar15, silly I cant on my glock.

If laws are there, no sense in even messing with it then.

Anyone have the actual legal info available?

This.

The Glock 45 GAP is made on their smaller frame: the 9mm and 40 cal frame. The Glock 45 ACP is made on their larger frame: 45 ACP and 10mm. Althought the diameter of the rounds are the same, the length is not. The 45 GAP round is short enough to fit the 40 cal length glock magazines. The 45 ACP round is too long and will not fit in the mag.

legalities?? not legalities, but LIABILITY, which any mfg is quick to tell you no, as the liability factor for the bean counters runs very high
glocktalk is an independent website for everything glock and then some.

Wasn't the whole point (well mostly) of the GAP gun to be smaller in the hand? If they could have made the grip smaller and still used 45 ACP, I think they would have done it. Not trying to be a downer, but it probably isn't going to happen since the whole gun was designed to NOT be the same as the ACP gun.

Certainly correct, GAP was designed to fit a .45 cal handgun into a 9mm frame. Sweet pistol, I'm just tryin to integrate my ammo a little more wisely.

Never really know much unless you ask.
Thanks for the info guys.
