Hi,
Wondering if anyone had any info on suppressed .22 uppers for an AR-15 lower.
I’m looking at the Gem Tech T2:
http://www.gem-tech.com/T2.html
and the AR22 MC by Tactical Solutions:

Also check out the Spikes Tactical .22 upper. those are awesome!
Integrally suppressed uppers are cool, but if you but a detachable suppressor you can put it on other guns as well.
I'd recommend getting a can you can take apart for cleaning when shooting .22lr.

+1 filthy ammo and lead bullets gum up a can really bad! The G2 comes apart but you can't use anything to drive the soldered baffle stack out. (it will be soldered in there!)

Thanks for the tips.
I recently bought my AR-15 and while looking around for info and all the accesories I found the .22 uppers and was looking at getting a Spike's tactical eventually. I have been living under a rock so didn't know about suppressors and once I came across those I figured I'd get an integral 10/22 eventually. Then I found those suppressed .22 uppers [Love1]
I'm still gathering information, cruising the forums so I can find info. I need to consider an external can that I could use on different weapons (.22 upper, 10/22, pistol...).
I'm not going to be using the .22 for any high grade shooting, more as a plinker.
SWR spectre is also user serviceable and can withstand 17hmr and 22mag. PM inbound.
My first can was a JET intergally suppressed 10/22. Hindsight being 20/20 I would *not* have done that.
I did end up getting a thread on can and am much happier. Sure a heavy barreled 10/22 that sounds like an air rifle and doesent look like a suppressed gun is cool, but being able to move the can around is cooler.
get something that you can swap out. Multiple .22s and 1 can are great to have!

i have a gemtech suppressor, i have 3 guns it can go on, my spikes upper, a 10-22, and a p-22. way too cool to move from pistol to rifle. in the rifle you need to shoot subsonic ammo to be really quiet. with high velocity stuff in a longer barrel, you would think the can doesnt work. put in subsonic, and all you hear is the bolt and the bullet impact.

i'm in Northern CO i have 2 different .22 cans and 9 different handgun & rifle platforms you can try them on. you bring the ammo and cleaning kit.
it's easy to turn down a wooden or plastic dowel to use as a baffle remover.

Thanks for the offer! Unfortunately I won't be back in the states until later in the year.
I emailed Gem-Tech in regards to their upper and received a reply that the project is currently on hold.
Thanks to input from a lot of people I've decided to go with a detachable can, the SWC Spectre.
