I would like to see the open carry movement succeed. The public would get used to seeing guns and become accustomed to them. CCW is fine but when you don't see guns it makes them 'scary' to the public.

So do you open carry everyday?

What do with your firearm when you are out and about and have to visit somewhere that doesn't allow OC?

Those are usually places that don't allow CCW either, except for places liek the DMV downtown, they actually have a sign that says "Open display of firearms prohibited" in which case, I leave it in the car.

There are a lot more places that don't allow OC than don't allow CCW.

And your point is...I'm still not getting a CCW. I'm NOT paying for the right I already have.

Almost none of them are a place that you NEED to go though. There is a park near my house that doesn't allow open carry. Pretty easy to avoid.

I'm not really up on the open carry rules. I would have thought all public parks you could express your 2nd amendment rights?

I think it has something to do with there not being any laws about open carry. A few people on here have explained it to me before, but I can't verbalize it at the moment.

I wish more people would open carry. I open carry a lot when I'm by myself or with friends. When I'm with the family, I carry concealed. It makes my wife feel better. I have been open carrying for about a year now. I have only had one instance where I was questioned. That was by a Walmart greeter! Go figure. [ROFL1]

I could just see that...sir do you have any items to ret...OMG!!!!!! [WTF IS THAT LOOK] followed by deep thought if it is allowed in the store, and finally a question of whether or not you are a cop and allowed to carry![ROFL1]

I don't believe I've ever read any age restrictions on open carry

But in CO, for handguns, 18 is the youngest age you can own one (via private party sale or as a gift, federal regulations prevent you from buying one from an FFL until 21)

So I guess that makes 18 the youngest age by default.

I always tell people that there are only a few places by law that restrict you to carry a firearm, concealed or otherwise, hospitals and schools come to mind right off the top of my head after a very long shift and I am about to rack out. Places like the mall, movie theatre, etc that don't allow firearms are doing so by company policy, not by law. Which means if you are concealed, they shouldn't know about it anyway unless you need it and if you need, who give a sh*% what they think. If they found out about it otherwise all they could do is have you leave.
