Great. If it was such a problem for "several months" why not bring the parents in on it. Surely they had a parent teacher conference in that time. [Bang]

"made the other students uncomfortable"

how come anti-gun folks always hide their feelings behind the face of a child?

Jammer told the paper her son isn't violent and doesn’t have toy guns at home. She suggested a less harsh punishment, like taking Mason’s recess away, might be more effective in teaching him not to make a gun with his hand.
Or how about exercising some parenting skills? Buy the kid a toy gun and begin to teach him the dos and don'ts of firearms handling and safety.

For crying out loud...when did it become a crime to be a little boy? We are raising a society of p*****s.

I live within three blocks of Dry Creek Elementary. I graduated from Cherry Creek HS, what a bunch of shit. I love how the principal is covering her ass asking if they have guns at home. Who cares? If they do, that's their right. If they don't and they feel safe, good luck to 'em.

Oh my God, I can't believe this country anymore. I just love how when someone else is uncomfortable or 'feeling harassed' they assume there is a crime...no crime just stop being a sissy!!! Welcome to the world where there are all kinds of little crazy and scary things...and apparently at the top of the list is a six year old making gun hand gestures

I would like to see the NRA step in and start legislation somehow that says schools can't ask that, it's private information

The principal has already met with the mother and agreed her action was inappropriate.

And the mother has revealed that the kid is in therapy and being tested for the usual attention/hyperactivity disorders (according to her, after repeated meetings with the school about her kid's behavior before anyone assumes it's because he made a gun with his fingers).

What was he supposed to say?! I'm gunna round you up n slaughter you?! Is that politically correct since it doesn't relate to a firearm.

typical bullshit, they think a 6 year old has something wrong with them because of a hand gesture. how about the grown adults who throw gang signs and say they are going to off someone.

For the sake of clarity where I didn't think it would be needed, the 'her' in this sentence in the mother of the child.

well that isn't fair, you still get the punishment even if your found not guilty.... they should make (let) him spend an extra day...

It's Cowpeople vs Native American people nowdays. (not cowboys and indians duh)

NAP must approach CP and ask what their intentions are? CP must in return reply "Why to sue you and take your land through a loophole we discovered through our corrupt legal system"

In which the NAP must say "Bull we have a right to our land and we are gonna build casinos and take all your CP $$$"

But then the evil Bankers come in and steal every thing so the CP and the NAP are left with nothing but sticks and stones.

When did it become a crime to be a kid ? It's stupid now but when I was a kid we actually used BB guns when we played cowboys and Indians. I still remember every adult telling us we'd put some one's eye out and to this day I don't have any one eyed friends ! Not condoning our actions but we were kids and survived.

They are harder to suspend, it might even require guns (gasp) to reign them in. Too much work! Let's just save and suspend the children!

Oops I'd better stop telling my 4 yr old to shoot Swiper on Dora the Explorer.

Is it ok for my 7 yr old to tell his friends that he's going shooting with me at the weekend?

Hell when I was a kid none of us would have made it past 1st grade if it was a 'crime' to make gun shapes with our hands.

I would hope to have the money to private school my kids...the school system (mainly the administrators) are ridiculous. Suspending kids for being kids, that is stupid. Taking it off his record...horrible!

After columbine I was hauled into the Dean's office at my high school because I had a shaved head and was in ROTC (I later spent 7 years in active duty army/army reserve). There were too faculty members in there (they told me for safety) and they were worried I might commit a similar act and wanted to know about the guns in our home. I had never been in trouble for anything.

I obviously failed as a parent. I let my youngest son play "army" when he was young.

Because of that when he grew up he joined the USAF and has personally killed or been directly responsible for killing literally hundreds of terrorists.

If only I'd known how I was failing him and society...

But seriously, that really happened and they called my dad right in front of me to ask about the guns in the house and if they were loaded. My father's response was..."What the hell is the use of an unloaded gun." My dad is real old school and doesn't know what PC is and had no idea why anyone could possibly think twice about it. Although I disagree with it, I can see how mass paranoia sneaks into the sissies.

Had a guy where I work put on 3 months administrative leave (without pay) for making the same hand gesture to another employee a couple of years ago. The offended employee felt "threatened" and opened a workcenter violence complaint.

The entire place had to go through a whole battery of "Workcenter Violence" training.

When the "offender" was allowed to come back to work he was only able to deal with the place for just over a month before he had had enough of the PC'ness and got a better job and left.

So, it's bad to made a gesture of a gun with your hand but if you pick your nose at work - in front of customers and co-workers, it's okay. (Explanation: A new employee just started at my wofes work - in her section - this woman is constantly picking her nose and her breath is so horrid that it can be smelled from 6 ft away -- oh, my wife works in the Customer Service section of the Peterson AFB Exchange).

Considering what we've read in this thread it's surprising someone else didn't beat you to the call.

I'd love to have a light saber. But I'd probably just get in trouble with it. Is there a $200 tax on those or is it an AOW by chance?
