View Full Version : Cast & Blast
Watching the big orange orb in the east rise today reminded me of how blessed we are to live in this state[Score]
I was thinking that in just a few more weeks temps will be increasing to the point where I can hit the south site for a little blasting, then on the way home wet my line in the South Platte for a little casting!!! Here fishy fishy[Awesom]
Yeah,, start at the south site,, head north on 67 to Deckers. Then just follow the river,, Pull over where you can...

As I have for many years[Beer]
Any other fly fisherpersons on this site? Might be a nice gathering.
While I definately wouldn't hold myself out to be a pro guide, in the past I've had the opportunity to help the clients of several guides in the metro area. My specialty was getting newb's up and running. If anyone would be interested, would be glad to help... no charge of course
Been thinking about giving it a try, but have not pulled the trigger yet, as it will take funds away from the primary hobbie[ROFL1]

Not if you know the guy who started this post that has plenty of gear to lend so you could at least give it a try.. before you take the plunge [Wink]
Haven't wet my line for years. I'd be up for it anytime, would love to relearn how to fly fish.
Think my Sage 6-7 and a few flies is all I have left for gear now.

I'm slowly starting to enjoy the fishing along there, but I'm always thinking "I could be brapping up that trail there on my dirtbike if I weren't casting this line that fish don't like right now".
Brassie, as in the fly? I used to spend a lot of time around Deckers and in the canyon, but having a 17 month old boy really limits my free time. Between shooting comps and the dirt bike, fly fishing has really moved to back burner. I miss it greatly, but I have to pick my hall passes accordingly these days.

Ouch!
Back to the real OT, I tend to spend most of my time with the danged fly stuck in the bushes.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I am more of a Mepps spinner #1 then a fly fisherman.[Coffee]

Most honorable Ginsue, it would be my qwest to keep yer casting fly out of the bushes, and instruct you to visit the bushes for one reason only[Wink]... solo of course
I was working before the sun was up[Bang]
luckily it didn't come up until after landing cause it sucks trying to land in the sun.
finally home and I am glad the site is back up, was worried the whole thing was going to be lost forever[Help]
I plan on doing a bit of trout fishing this year, probably more lake fishing than river or stream though. never got into fly fishing, always been a cast and reel or maybe a trolling guy.
