Hey all, new to AR's but not to guns. I own two shotguns, a browning gold hunter for hunting and a Winchester 1300 I turned into a home defense toy thingy. I also own a Browning 30-06, a ruger 10-22, a Steyr M95 and two hand guns, a Springfield Xdm and a Beretta px4. I have wanted an AR-15 for a long time and was able to finally pick one up on black Friday, still have to figure out how to tell the wife though. So far I'm having a blast accesorizing it but sadly I still need to get out and shoot it. That is something I'm working on for the next weekend or two but it's been hard getting out due to the newborn that's now lingering the halls. Well I hope to meet some fellow AR shooters down the road that just enjoy sending some lead down range. Nice to meet you all. [AR15]

All I have to say is that there is NOT a Dan Wesson .357mag in the drawer of my desk at work ... and yes the ACOG on my AR is a "Chinese knockoff" that only cost $100 [Angel2]

Yea this is a problem. You could always try the, well this paying the bills thing doesn't seem so hard... She may reply "well than you do it then" you say no problem. A month later you tell your wife "man that is tough, you are a more special women than I thought" and hope she doesn't notice the missing $800 and the new sig sitting in the night stand. I don't know, might be worth a try. The key is the compliment. Good luck.

I'll start telling my wife about every gun purchase when she gives a crap..

she knows I have a separate acct that I keep just for this purpose, I let slip things occasionally, but I don't make a point out of it... one way or the other.

she had a retail store, do you think she told me about everything she bought for the store? I'd be bored to tears and she knows it...

I do side jobs, sell things, etc in order to fund the hobby acct.. she realized as long as it didn't get in the way of paying bills, it shouldn't bother her...
