View Full Version : you dont know recoil
picked her up on wed. took it to the range today, and let me tell you you dont know recoil untill you let a 300 grain corbon in .44 mag go through a 329pd, I dont think my hand will ever be the same.

Yep, there going to be some serious recoil involved in shooting that gun. I have a SS mountain lite and that is a hell of a handfull. I won't even try to shoot a scandium framed 44 mag. Amazingly nice to carry, but getting a second shot off is going to be a bitch.
very nice looking piece there! If you aren't man enough to handle it just give it to me[Beer][Flower]

Awesome piece you have there!
Ha! Seriously, that's some major recoil. I have a 329 with rubber grips, put one round of 240 gr. and left the .300 gr. on the table. It's a bit more managealbe with .44 special. ;)

Agreed, very nice looking handgun.
I don't enjoy shooting a .44 Mag. due to the wrist-impacting recoil.

If You liked that try a short barrel 500 S&W[Rant1]
I had someone trying to sell me one of those a while back. I just couldn't see the reason for a "lite" .44 mag.
I've considered throwing on some sandbags when shooting 320g HC CorBon rounds.
Nice looking handgun.

I had a s&w 500 with the short barrel, belive me this thing is way more painful to shoot.
S&W 500... there's a "bear" gun! lol
A "friend" handed me one of those a while back. I fired three rounds and handed it back. Worst damn recoiling handgun I've ever fired.

This thread makes me feel better for hardly being able to shoot my uncle's Ruger Redhawk 44 mag.

I was shooting at the Firing Line a while back and the guy in the next stall was shooting a .44 mag. It was affecting everyone there, especially me. The guy was apologizing, believe it or not! It wasn't that it was loud as much as the damn concusion.
I did shoot a S&W 500 revolver once. The recoil was so bad that on the 3rd shot a sharp pain went from my wrist down my forearm.
