And if that transformation is socialism, then so be it, he explained. That is what the American public "overwhelmingly" voted for.

These are our local folks we have to thank. So insurance premiums and taxes are going up next year but health care doesnt start till 2014? Is the way I understood it, correct me if I am wrong, I need to know because I could barely afford insurance for the family this year, I will have to drop it next year since my nation wide multi billion dollar a year employer who got raises this year from customers couldnt pass a cost of living raise to its employees!

Thing is there's just too great a percentage of the population that still supports this administration and is HAPPY this bill passed.
Sure they're all idiots, but they are all still allowed to vote, own property, breathe, etc.
The real only solution is to divide the country into several other countries ... let the libtards have America and we'll all break out into new nations.

(now I just used for the most part current state borders with the exception of cutting Clark County out of Nevada and giving it to California ... I expect there's other borders like between the NROT and Iowa and Minnesota and of course southern Illinois might just go with the Confederacy ... lots of details that might go differently ... but this gives you a rough idea).

it's a great PLACE... it's just the people running the gov't there that are worthless...
they're very liberal, and they ignored the 2nd amendment- passed a law that requires citizens to apply for a permit to own a handgun..
so you hear about people hunting boars.. but they do it with teams of dogs & a large knife...
And you can't own any land.
They passed a law saying you can't smell too bad on public transportation.
You can't drink on the dance floor and can't dance on the drinking floor.
They also think they'd be better off without the main land, which I find highly debatable, depending on which definition of "better off" one uses.
But since I've never been there, and don't know what anyone thinks, then I have to hold my thoughts about the matter is it is all just what I'm under the impression of.

I think they suffer much the same way as Alaska, what people in DC think is good for the country doesn't apply very well there... and because of their low population, they get little representation.
like any index to a national poverty level or cost of living... totally skewed in Alaska & Hawaii
trade restrictions, telling states where they can & cannot drill for oil, fish, etc... DC is so out of touch with anything AK & HI

you can own land, but there is some land you can't- anything beyond the vegetation line (the beach) is public property... there is the forbidden island that you can't go to, etc..
I hear you on the other odd laws... they've got a lot of culture clash that occurs there- and the gov't tries to please everybody, which means at some time or another they piss everybody off... they should just take a much more hands-off approach with their government, but that doesn't fit with their liberal agenda there...
I wouldn't form too strong of an opinion from what you get through the media... and I prefer the less populated islands, there "the man" pretty much stays out of your business.. I haven't been to Honolulu in about 25 years...

There's been a strong secessionist movement in Hawaii since before it was a state ... many of the natives would love to run all the "Howlies" out of there (my cousin was stationed at Pearl when he was in the navy ... he stayed on the island for a couple years after his enlistment was over being a DJ and beach bum).

Frankly, I say we have an enclave of progressives isolated in CA, another around the NY, NJ, MA area. That's all they get and since they've pretty much f**ked those places up already they get to live with their handiwork. It shouldn't be too difficult to forcefully relocate them.
We'll just strecth the Confederate states a little further north...like it shoulda been anyway 145 years ago.

I would gladly give them everything in the green areas of the map if The New Republic of Texas would be governed by something much more akin to our original constitution.
Sure there are some good folk in California and those other states ... but they can apply for work visas in the NROT and immigrate here like anyone else (of course there will be standards, requirement to renounce citizenship and an oath of allegiance).

This isn't exactly true. Per capita, states with tiny populations like Alaska and North Dakota are vastly over-represented in the Senate. The lower chamber of course assigns representation based on population. This only gets really interesting every four years with the electoral college, which is your number of senators + representatives. So an individual voting in Nebraska has substantially more sway than an individual in California, even though Nebraska only gets 3 EC votes and California has something like 54.
I think the Electoral College should be ended. It was useful when it took weeks to journey across the country, today it's skews representation and changes politics in unpleasant ways.

I like the new map. But instead of the New Republic of Texas, I'd prefer it to be the Colorado Republic.

I say we take it all back and send them to mexico, ask any mexicans if they want to come over and enjoy true freedoms then they can help us build a monsterous moat filled with landmines, booby traps, bard wire, gators, water moccasins, sharks and whatever else the entire length of the border between us and mexico and us and canada. if they help they can stay[Beer]...oh and English is the only language.
