It's okay, but it's an RK SHows production and they are usually not as large as the Prospectors Sertoma Club Gun Shows. I don't see a Sertoma show scheduled at least through August so we need to take what we can get!

It's a good sized show for beef jerky and silver/turquoise jewelry. Oh, I forgot the pakistani knives.

Compared to Tanner's it's quite a bit smaller. Not as many gun tables and just not as many vendors period. I did see Machine Gun Tours there and hey,,,,no one got shot that I know of!

I did and let me say that I was not impressed. In fact I think the gun shows are getting worse and worse every year. What happened to the days where we went to the gun shows to find good deals on firearms and ammo? I saw a guy at a booth there today selling just a small amount of ammo and it seemed to me like the guy just went to Walmart and bought some ammo the day before just to sell it at the show for a profit. It took everything I had to restrain myself from telling the guy that the Walmart about 20 min drive from here has that exact stuff for a better price and they might want to adjust for that[Rant2]. There was a booth that had some remanufactured ammo at some good prices. I can't remember the company name. As far as handguns go I couldn't find much more than Taurus and XD pistols all over the tables. Some of the Sigs I found could have been purchased over at Sportsman's Warehouse for a better price and they're in stock too. The beef jerky booth is getting smaller with just a few options now. And yes the glove guy was there selling it up.

Also, thank God that no one was shot there today (that I know of as of 11pm Sat). This time around I payed more attention to what other people did and I did take more notice of what some people consider their "muzzle control". Maybe this will be my last gun show for a while:(

Dang. So there weren't even any decent deals on ammo? What about reloading supplies? I'm looking to buy a case of .223 and to get some powder and primers.

theGinsue

THey might have had some there, but I didn't see ANY primers for sale. I did see some powders, but wasn't fond of the prices so I just walked on by. I few bullet sellers; some okay prices, some not. I was really put off by the prices for cases. Hint to sellers: they're made of brass, not gold!

A buddy was looking for a used Ruger LCP/.380Auto. He found a few of them - all in very similar condition. The prices varied by over $100 from highest to lowest.

I didn't see any major deals and nothing that drew me to make a purchase.

For those others who attended and were disappointed, this was actually a pretty good show for the producers "RK Shows". Typically, RK SHows doesn't put on even this good of a show. While nothing the Springs has will compete with what Denver produces (gun show wise), the Prospectors Sertoma Gun Shows are usually much better.

I was sure happy to get some jalapeno jerky. And a new Glock.

Having just moved from Ohio, I can tell you that this gunshow is NOTHING like Ohio. Ohio has way more glove vendors than Colorado.

In all seriousness, the show had way too many vendors selling the same products. Ohio shows are 2 to 1 tables that are collectors and private sellers vs. FFLs selling at the table. You get a ton more variety in the rifles there. At this show, everything was an AR (not that there's anything wrong with that), and it felt like everyone was an FFL. I had a hard time handgun shopping. Thankfully, I knew what I wanted, got it, and got out.

Ohio shows are loaded with FTF sales, and I saw hardly any yesterday - actually, a guy was trying to sell a Beretta 9mm, and had his 8 yr old boy carrying it.

My favorite table was the "Pain Cream." Seriously. Pain cream? At a gun show? That's just one step away from the department store agressive purfume test sprayers - mixing their quick, jump at you attacks with guns is a bad idea.

By the way, I got a Glock 36 .45ACP with Tritium sights and bought a Crimson Trace Laser Guard. It's going to be my CCW.

Well, you all convinced me not to go even though it is only 15 minutes from home. I will finish up my taxes and then go back to reading The Pacific.

And I was just about out of jerky. Perfect timing!!

I'm not on the market for anything right now. Waiting on my pre-ordered S&W Bodygueard 380 and my CCW permit to come in. Don't want to be tempted to buy anything else.

I thought you were getting the Glock 36 for CCW? Or going to change up the weapon to match the wardrobe like a proper gentleman?

Hehheh...

The wife and I will be heading to this show though. We've found it's the best way to quickly handle lots of guns to see which is comfortable without an ignorant jackass salesman acting like every time he show's us something he's doing us a favor rather than trying to move product. I'm not saying that all gun sales folks are this way, just an annoyingly high percentage. So since the shows do have value for us even if we don't buy anything, we like to patronize them if we can.

Stopped by the show today and actually it is pretty good compared to the last couple, including the one at Thanksgiving last year.

Saw at least five dealers that were heavy in AR stuff, ARMA is out there, plus there is a sweet looking Rem 700 VLS in 308.

Heading back there tomorrow just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Went today

Picked up powder, 55gr FMJs bullets and some reload boxes.

Overall decent price on powder, Ramshot TAC for 17 and Benchmark for 21.

Very astute, Chad. I plan on using both the Glock 36 and S&W Bodyguard 380 for CCW. And yes, it will depend on what fits with what I am wearing.

I love the 36 - just had one issue with it. Would not feed Speer Lawman 230 gr +P. I think that the hollow point is so large it is catching on the feed ramp. I got some Glaser powerball which will most definitely feed, and also some buffalo bore HPs that have a much smaller opening and a more rounded profile than the Lawman's.

SO, I made it there @ about 1100 today. Not a bad show, but not spectacular either.

I ran into one of my dad's old HS buddies - he was one of the two in the WWII German uniforms. I haven't seen that guy for 15 years. I'll never forget him showing up at my folks place back in the EARLY 80's needing work on his car - a VW Thing painted up as a WWII German Staff Car - Iron Cross on the side and all. Under his back seat he had an M240 (yes, full auto) and a nice belt of ammo. I got to shoot that thing in my folks backyard (they live in the middle of nowhere).

Anyway, back to the OT...

I picked up an 8lb jug of Ramshot TAC for $135. Given the cost of powder these days, I think I did got a pretty good price.

I've been looking for an AR armorer's wrench during the last few shows but haven't seen one or sale. A year ago several folks were carrying them. Not looking to go out of my way to get one, but will pick one up if I can find one.
