Finally!
I was trying to grow these last year... guess I'll try again - very hard to germinate...

March 13: Ex-vegan attacked by former cohorts with [B]chili pepper-laced pies.
March 23: Chili peppers go counterterrorist. The revolution has begun.
This week, the Indian military has announced its decision to use the world’s hottest chili pepper, the “bhut jolokia” or “ghost chili” to fight terrorism within India’s borders. In an act of pure ingenuity, defense scientists will replace the explosives normally found in small hand grenades with chili powder to immobilize without killing: the pepper apparently generates enough heat to startle a person while, we assume, troops swoop in.

My wife bought me some of the buht jolokia peppers in Breckenridge about a month ago.

These things will spice you up, baby. Seriously...hot.

These things, if dried, turned to powder and atomized/aerosolized(?) - would be an incredible 'pepper bomb'.

Habaneros are merely painful, the Indian peppers make a habanero seem like a breath mint....

That was a good site.

We already make defensive stuff out of the same thing the Indian's are using. OC spray, OC pepper balls, OC grenedes... I think most of the american producers are using habaneros for the most part, but once you've extracted the oils and then condenced them it's kinda moot what pepper the OC came from.

I've been maced, CSed, and OCed. If I had to choose getting dosed again, of the three, I'll take the mace or CS over the OC any day. They all suck, but the OC makes your face feel like you just fell over into a camp fire.

Correct Sir [Beer]
Where does it come from?

Extraction of oleoresin capsicum from peppers involves finely ground capsicum, from which capsaicin is extracted in an organic solvent such as ethanol. The solvent is then evaporated, and the remaining waxlike resin is the oleoresin capsicum. An emulsifier such as propylene glycol is used to suspend the OC in water, and pressurized to make it aerosol in pepper spray.

I'm going to make a shotgun round full of OC. I'll use it to shoot a bear in the face, hoping to distract it enough that I can pounce on it with a knife and slit it's throat. Then I'll feel good about myself when I tell the story.

Yeah, you're probably right. I love hot food. Truely, passionately love hot food. There is such a thing as too hot though. Eating a pepper like that is just a way to show off and prove how tough you are. I can't imagine them having any flavor at all.

If a guy does eat some of those Indian peppers, he should eat a bowl of ice cream immediately after. That way, when hes on the shitter the next day, he'll be saying come on icecream!

You have fun with that. If I have to shoot a bear with anything, it's going to be large caliber, magazine fed, and fully loaded!
