Finally (back) in the 10mm club

Though I have been looking for a used G20SF for many months (and ended up getting a G21SF, just to see how I'd like the SF frame), I ended up buying a Colt Stainless Delta Elite over the weekend. It is a later run, but pre-enhanced version, in very nice shape. I picked up some Blazer and some Silvertips from Green Mountain to try it out this week. I also want to configure it for heavier loads, like DT 200g hardcasts, so I ordered an EGW oversized FP stop and a heavier mainspring from Brownells to reduce felt recoil and frame battering. I also ordered a Wilson semi-drop in beavertail and an Ed Brown tactical extended thumb safety for comfort/convenience--I'm not a big fan of lots of 1911 mods, but the sharp edges of the Colt standard grip safety really hurt my hand, and I find it much easier to shoot with a high thumb with the Brown thumb safety. The plan is to have a few shooting sessions so I can decide whether to put up for sale the Delta, the G21SF, and/or my Springfield Stainless Loaded Champion, or whether I should keep them all and sell something else to pay for the Delta (and possibly a G20SF, if one ever shows up, and if I really like 10mm). I'll try to do a range report when I'm done, if anyone's interested.

I have read about guys who put the G20 barrel into the G21 and presto, two guns in one. I don't have any experience myself doing this, but how cool would it be to keep your G21sf and still have a Glock that shoots 10mm? It seems as if they just upgrade the recoil spring and drop the 10mm barrel in. Since they are build on the same frame all the G20 magazines work in the G21. You say "I picked up some Blazer and some Silvertips from Green Mountain"? I was there specifically to check on 10mm ammo on Tuesday and they only had some expensive hollow point Hornaday's. What day did you get yours.

He posted this a month ago, is probably why GMG didn't have any 10mm when you went. I was there on Sat and they didn't have any either.

I think it was a Friday (in March). [Tooth] Seriously, I go by there at least once a week. If I see any blazer, I'll PM you. I think Sportsman's on 84th had some FMJ, but that was in April. It's worth a shot.

I was at GMG this Saturday, they had plenty of Blazer 10mm and I believe some Corbon 135gr stuff as well.
