View Full Version : Deal or No Deal On this AK need answers soon THANKS
THIS IS NOT ME SELLING IT ITS AN AD
Im selling my 1963 Romanian AK. Its got approx 400 rounds through it is all and is perfect, I mean perfect condition. Comes with provision for the side mounted optics rail (does not include rail or optics).
Im selling 4 mags with it and $500 rounds of 7.62x39 FMJ. This is basically the best way to live out all of your "ALLAH ACKBAR!!!" fantasies! Haha.
Price is $800.00 obo. I need the cash and don't need this rifle as I have had it for a year and shot it twice
Wood stock great condition
Says he would do 500
I recently got a SAR-1 with about the same amount of ammo and mags. The guy also included a few extras, rail mount, sling etc. I gave $475 for all of it. If it's a WASR I'm thinking to offer him less. I guess with the extra ammo and mags it's not really a bad deal at the $500, but at the $800 price HELL NO!

after thinking about the ad for a while, I don't think it is a home build, based on the way that the guy talks and the fact that the rifle has a optics rail on it, I would say that the percentage of builders who actually put a optics mount rail on are relatively small. I could be wrong tho, if it is a homebuild I would say stay away
I actually think it is a WASR 10 or a WASR 10/63
here are a couple of links to look at

Do know that you can buy a brand new WASR for 379$ or alot less if you shop around
Do ask the seller lots of questions like when did you buy it are you the original owner why are you selling it etc.
Things to look if you inspect it
sights: WASR's are know for having twaeked or bent sight blocks from diassebly of the rifle
Magwell Opening : some WASR were imported with single stack magazines during the "salt rifle ban" and people filed out the magwell openings to take regular ak mags
If it is a WASR I would say make him take 50-100$ less for the package
tell him you are not paying top dollar for rebuilt 1960's technology
WASR's are lower of the low end ak's and 300$ or less is where the price should be

For $800 I would buy an Arsenal converted Saiga. Much better rifle.
The SAR series are decent AK's, but they wont hold a candle to say an Arsenal SLR 95 or a Hungarian SA 85 or similar. You can pick those up unmolested for $6-700 all day long.
$450 tops on the rifle and the ammo- .25 cents per round is a pretty realistic price on the market.
With the ad stating 1963 I would be very suspect of it being a WASR 10 or a "G" rifle.
If it is a home built I would be very wary going in. If it is a home build it is more than likely a "G" rifle.
Better deals to be had out there............................
And I would be VERY suspect if he is willing to drop $300 off the price right off the bat.

Buy an Arma AK from the guys in Parker. Local gun makers are few and far between. They make a quality product and if you don't support your local guys, they may not be around when you need them.

Got one of these at the tanner, Love it, a little pricey but the Arma Rifles are top of the line AK's, no worry about trigger slap, canted front sight or mag wobble, very nice.

for $800 you could have my 922 compliant Norinco Mak-90 and still have money left over
